THE VERY BEST OF ITS KIND,

This book is a TREASURE. It is beautifully organized and presented, and includes a number of chateaux that are not featured in other books. The author provides scholarly insights on the people and history behind these majestic buildings. The photography is superb; for example, an unforgettable scene of Chambord in the snow. The photographer captures the chateaux both inside and out. This beautiful book pushed me over the edge; I am going to see the famous chateaux next month. I appreciated the map and the index (commune and department were a little confusing). Otherwise, I cannot praise this book too highly. It was worth more than the price paid. I constantly referred to this book to plan my trip. Thank you, Messieurs Seydoux and Chirol.
