I have chronic back pain issues & as a result need to use ice paks 3-4 hours/day, and anytime I'm driving more than 30 mins. This ice pak is a great size & retains a cold temperature for a long period of time. Given this, these paks are a godsend BUT the seams always burst within a few months of usage - causing the seams to leak/ooze a greenish brown gel --- all over my clothes and furniture. They are good for short-term usage, but do not withstand the test of time in my household.

As someone who is going to need this type of product for the rest of my life, the cost of replacing them over a long term period would ultimately become prohibitive. It's not worth the hassle to repack/ship or the $8 S&H expense to return the defective ones every time they burst, either. I tried reinforcing the damaged seams with silicone, duct tape, cloth tape & super glue - nothing worked.

I would pay more for a more durable product - and can't understand why they don't have the gel solution contained in another interior freeze pak or reinforce the seal on the seams to prevent bursting/leakage.

These Colpac products are really great. I have a bulging disc in my neck and keeping the area iced, especially after work when I get home, makes a huge difference in the level of pain I feel the next day. You can apply them directly to your skin even though they are super cod although I will usually wrap it in a light towel unless I am in extreme pain that night. I am one of those people who have tried just about every pain pill, cream, and device that exist. The best combination I have found is using this pack EVERY night, and using Warrior Mist Pain Reliever + FREE Vicozen Pain Killer Shot, which is topical oil of sorts. I've more recently resorted to more natural herbs and remedies when it comes to relieving the pain in my neck and back. These oils have actually been the best thing I have found for it.

Initially, I loved this ice pack. It is large enough to ice any area of my body. Shoulder front and back at the same time and lower back and hip. However, today one of the seams just opened up with no stress on it. I have emailed the seller and will update if and when I hear back. Four months use is pretty poor.
