2 bars missing,
By Marijn Simons (Geleen Netherlands) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Chausson: Symphony in B flat Major, Op. 20; Fauré: Pelléas et Mélisande, Op. 80 (Audio CD)
Careless work of the editor! Besides that the sound of the recording is far too dense, there are two bars missing in the recording, namely the 7th and 8th bar after C in the third movement of Chausson's Symphony. Which is such a pity because the performance is great. The orchestra is playing very well and conducted thrillingly by Jean Fournet. But all this is messed up by a complete clueless and insolent act from the editor.

Maitre Fournet is the specialist par excellance in French repertoire, and the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest Holland is his chosen ensemble to immortalize his a vision. This recording is a must, not only for lovers of good music who might not be familiar with this repertoire, but for professional listeners who like to delve deeply into the details of a score.
