Quick heat up time, and uses very little fog juice!
DJ Urban Dynamix
Once heated up, which takes about 2 minutes, it can provide a steady stream for 90-120 seconds straight, compared to 30 seconds with a cheap, off-the-wall fogger.

It finally stopped working altogether about two weeks ago (19 months after buying it).

I've been using this little fogger alongside similar foggers (some more expensive, some about the same cost), and it has consistently been the best fogger by a significant margin. I've used it in extreme cold, in very warm environments, in humid and dry conditions and with a few types of fog juice (I prefer Black Label premium fog juice). It warms up quickly, spews a large amount of fog (or less, if you don't want much), and had no major hiccups or problems (most fog machines are highly temperamental).

An important note: You must empty and clean the fog machine when you're not using it. If you don't, it will likely clog the next time. You can't use it for Halloween, shelve it, then pick it up in 4 months and expect it to be the same. The fog juice gums up the spout and the internal areas and must be cleaned out after using. I used this for two weeks straight during some photo shoots and didn't need to clean it, but if it's going to sit for more than a few weeks then you need to prepare it for storage. This is normal for any fog machine I've worked with.

I got this for a party and it works great. The laser lights show up very well and the machine can put out alot of smoke. I was concerned that my 20 X 15 foot room would be too big for it, but after about 5 minutes of blowning smoek that concern was long gone, I had to pull the fire alarm batteries and open a window because the fog was way thick and my entire upstairs (20 x 60) was fogged out. I only used Chauvet fog juice, I bought a gallon thinking it was going to use it fast but that is not the case. I think a quart or 1/2 gallon would be plenty to start with. It did not even use the entire contents of the tank for the evening. It takes about 5 minutes for the element to get hot enough for it to start blowing smoke but after that the recovery time is about 45-90 seconds.

Some points to note:

DO NOT let the machine run dry or the pump will not be able to draw the fog juice and you will need to take apart the machine and prime the pump by drawing the liquid up via a vacuum (ie your mouth)

It will produce enough smoke that your fire alarm will go off. Period.

The nozzle does get Very hot so don't let little kids touch it.

Unless you are putting on a professional concert you would be hard pressed to be disappointed in this machine.

Used this on my front porch for about 30 days during Halloween 2011. At our pumpkin carving party, our entire cul-de-sac was covered in fog after running this for 2 hours. I highly recommend the remote/timer. As this unit (among all foggers) have to be manually engaged every 3-5 minutes to work. The timer allows you to set the length between bursts and the amount of time for each burst.

Update: 10/2/2012 - I have now used this for 1 year and am happy to report that, for this price point, it fills a cul-de-sac FULLY within 2 hours using the optional timer remote. It runs every fe minutes and does a complete job. I will be ordering another one this year for Halloween.

I bought this unit June of 2011 for my high school reunion.
It worked as advertised.
Used it once.
I cleaned it to store it.
I pulled it out this June 2012.
It didn't work.
Called the Chauvet company in Florida.
They have all kinds of return policies that are NOT written down anywhere.
I finally got a return authorization on email.
More constraints.
I kept the original boxes but I didn't save the packing that goes between the outer and inner boxes.
They also tell me I must use Fedex ground.
I live out in the middle of nowhere ... gravity barely works.
I got my original invoice and noticed that they charged me almost $20 to send and handle it.
The unit only cost $65.
So I figure for $40 shipping (both ways), and their attitude, I would let people know about the fine folks at Cauvet.

I ordered the 1050 Chauvet Fog machine, and this 1100 model came instead? I was pissed because the one I ordered looks way better with a sleek silver coating. After bitching on the phone to customer service (Parts-Express was the dealer), I just decided to keep this 1100 Model and use it.

And I must say, there's nothing wrong with it. It warmed up in about two minutes (they say it takes 5 min), and after holding down the button for 3 seconds my room was THICK with fog. The remote works fine, and has a decent sized cord (about 8 feet). The blue LED is a cool feature as it lights up the fog juice letting you see the fluid level and also lets people see the unit in the dark... hopefully keeping them from tripping.

I've ONLY used this unit for one night, so I cannot say how it preforms over the years. But as of that one night, I'll give it 5 stars.

This little machine had my whole yard covered in a thick fog on Halloween nite! I could not believed how much fog this unit produced! I was afraid that the fire dept was going to roll up any moment!

I found myself in the market for a water based fog machine for Halloween of 2012. I didn't want to purchase a cheap $30 version that had a reputation of only working for one season and putting out very small amounts of fog so I began my search. I had heard of the name Chauvet so I gave them a try. I'm in the process of setting this unit up with a fog chiller to complete my small graveyard in the front of my yard. I will update this video when the final project is completed but for now its just a review of the unit itself. Hopefully you find this review helpful.
