My wife wanted this to add to our family room to go with the home theater. The biggest issue is figuring placement so you just try it here and there. It is a twin lens and LCD so covers more space and does not get hot. I would have like an off on switch but since they use it in clubs I can see why not if you hook many together (daisey chain) I just use a switched power cord.

It is fun for a party but so far we use it just to dance around by ourselves or even Karoake. It does react to the music but I think there is a slight reaction time delay but we are happy we got it.

You can set it to be sound sensitive or just go through a set program.

The Chauvet J-Five is a great light.

It's very bright and shows up great (even during the day with the lights on).

The power consumption is only 16 watts, it stays very cool, and it can run continously all night.

The sound activation works good (even if the sound source is somewhat quiet or far away), but I have found that it works great if the sound source is loud and\or close.

The spread of lights is good. I have my light positioned in one of the top corners of my room and it is partially covering two walls, the ceiling, and the floor.

For under $100 it is very competitively priced.

I highly recommend this light if you are considering it.

This light it meant for a ceiling or for the background of a small to medium sized room. While it creates a very wide spread of lights, the lights themselves are not that penetrating (For example, if you use it in the dark outdoors, you can not see each individual light clearly like you see in the display picture of this item). However, it works wonders indoors, and I strongly recommend these as SUPPORTING lights.

As a side note, these lights are NOT DMX.

I use this in conjuction with two Vue II's (Which are powerful, penetrating, amazing lights that I HIGHLY recommend)

Me gusta mucho esta lampara. Es liviana y por ser de led no se calienta. Cubre un gran espacio. Su iluminación es similar a 2 lamparas de halogeno de 100 Watts. Es como tener dos Chauvet ZX-5 en una sola. No es DMX, sin embargo la recomiendo ampliamente para aquellos que el DMX no les interesa mucho.

This is the Chauvet J-FIVE light. It is a small sized light that puts out a lot of color and movement. I was surprised how nice it is. The housing is metal, not plastic like most lights. I use it on Sound active and it will come on with different light patterns on one side then the other side, and both at the same time. The colors go on and off and move in patterns and if you have the motor on then they will spin more. You can't go wrong with this light for a dance floor or a ceiling effect. It looks great on the floor, but I mount it low and aim it up at the ceiling and it's perfect since it puts two circles above the dancers. It covers a large area but you can get the single version for a small area. For mobile DJ, this is a great light and it's now one of my favorites.

I was blown away by how much light this outputs! It was actually too much for my event... I am still impressed nonetheless.

Hello, This is half as good as a four lens moonbeam. still it's just as brilliant as any moon flower genre Led. I would recommend it for its brightness and action.

This light shines very brightly on the dance floor. Sometimes I point it to the ceiling for a cool effect or just shine it right on the dance floor. It really puts out a lot of light. I'm very happy with it.

Great product,very low power, very bright even in a lighted room, easy to hook-up. That's all I need. I've got 2 more.
