The Techno Strobe is a 75-watt strobe that's adjustable from 1 to 15 flashes per second, offering sound-activated or manual speed. These strobes are linkable via mono cable, chasing-enabled via an optional controller, and DMX-controllable via an optional converter.
The Techno Strobe 2000S has two modes of operation: sound-activated and automatic, selected via a switch on the rear of the unit. When operating in sound activated mode, the strobe is triggered by music or other nearby audio, with an adjustable sensitivity level. In automatic mode, the speed control will adjust the flash rate.
An optional 1/4-inch mono plug from Chauvet allows for linking this model of strobe. When linking strobes, there is a maximum of 8 strobes per chain, and the first strobe will act as a master.
CHAUVET also offers a large verity of strobe controllers and controllers that have the capability of operating this strobe. You can also add an optional converter for use with DMX lighting networks/systems.

Potential Disappointment,

Chauvet ST-2000S Techno Strobe Light 2000S
I know I'm going to disappoint some Chauvet customers, but I did NOT buy this for party use! My projects include stop motion photography along with High Speed photography. The actual physical size of the unit is much larger than I'd anticipated, The lens diameter is approximately 8" and the length approximately 10". This isn't an issue for my needs, or an indictment of the product, just information for those who might need it. The flash is VERY bright, well into the range of my stronger (dedicated) photo flashes. Both the trigger, the auto and the music modes work quite well. In the music mode the music volume needs to be relatively loud and the strobe near the source of the sound. This unit, like most with high output energy (and subsequent heat) has a duty cycle of 20 minutes at maximum power. This is absolutely normal for this kind of device, and it's a shame so many reviewers don't understand that concept. All in all, a VERY impressive unit for a good price. Should we outgrow this unit (in our photo needs) we'll add more of this model for additional and extended lighting. Five stars for this one!

I'm a college student and I was looking for something to spice up parties in my dorm room. Imagine my delight when I found this professional strobe light and saw that it wasn't all that expensive.
The other reviews have described how this IS a professional product and therefore isn't for all situations. I would definitely agree with that, because often we had to point the light at a wall or keep it under a bed because it was so bright. However, it certainly made parties a lot more exciting. The audio-sync mode isn't terrific. I tried it the first few times with a bunch of pop songs and it was hit or miss. There is an input on the back of the device that would probably make the syncing a lot more accurate, but for my needs, it's not a huge deal. PROS: Cheap, Professional, Useable in tons of situations, Has audio-sync mode so the light blinks to the beat. CONS: Too powerful for most non-professional uses (so put it under furniture or under a blanket!), audio-syncing is spotty. SUMMARY: If you're looking for a great strobe light, get this, but keep in mind it might be too powerful for you and you'll have to figure out how to dampen it somehow.

Great for a Halloween strobe effect in your garage,

Last Halloween, I purchased and mounted the Chauvet Techno Strobe above my garage door after having researched many strobe lights on the market.
I wanted one that was bright, relatively inexpensive and had a built-in mic with adjustable speed. This model certainly fit the bill. With the built-in mic, I got what I wanted, which was a random flash, and not a steady tempo flash. This gave more of a lightning effect which is what I wanted to go along with the haunted "slaughter room" we had constructed in the garage. Being a former mobile DJ, I have send and worked with my share of strobe lights. This strobe is a keeper. Highly recommended!
