I thought this biography provided a great introduction to the life of Cesar Chavez. The reading is for beginners and I think it is age appropriate for first grade readers. I would have liked to see more pictures showing the migrant workers and the fields they worked in, but the book is a biography and they do a great job showing pictures of Chavez. I would use this book to introduce the importance of Cesar Chavez Day in California.
