Excellent: especially for background and survival information (e.g. where and what to eat, menu terms). Excellent maps. The book pays for itself with the first meal. Marilyn and Paul N., Bethesda, MD

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is already outdated., May 21, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Cheap Eats in Prague, Vienna, and Budapest : A Traveler's Guide to the Best-Kept Secrets (Paperback)
This book was probably useful 5-6 years ago(1997 edition). Now, it is just too old to be useful. Don't waste your money. I would love to see those prices again, but it is in the past and even Eastern Europe is not that cheap any more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Food & Adventure, September 26, 2004
This review is from: Cheap Eats in Prague, Vienna, and Budapest : A Traveler's Guide to the Best-Kept Secrets (Paperback)
We travelled to Budapest in July 2003. We only got to use the book 2 times but each was a wonderful experience. We never would have found the restaurants mentioned without the book. We didn't worry so much about the prices quoted, but they were reasonable and the food was wonderful with generous portions. Finding the restaurants and exploring the area was a wonderful adventure and unforgettable experience. It was well worth the money spent.
