Super Accurate Digital Hygrometer

After dealing with the little dial hygrometers and a GE unit that was wildly inaccurate, finding this one has been a blessing. I have 2 grand pianos in my care and so I bought two, one for my home piano and one for my Fellowship. They give me an accurate reading at a glance. They also have a magnet built in so that I can mount it for easy viewing. A nice additional feature.

I bought this hygrometer to carry with me when I perform as a musician so I can check the humidity level for my reeds. I have found that it closely matches the Honeywell thermo-hygrometer that is in my house. I have noticed it will stop reading humidity levels when they fall below 24%. I find it accurate enough for my use and plan on purchasing another.

I had an analog hygrometer that came with my humidor, this is far more accurate. I placed it with another digital hygrometer (different vendor) and they both read the same so I'm assuming that its accurate.

I purchased this hygrometer to ensure the humidity level in the room where my wife's violin is stored is within the correct range. It works as advertised and is very easy to calibrate. While reading the reviews for this hygrometer and the HygroSet II, it occurred to me that there may be some confusion about how to properly calibrate the device. I noticed reviews where people claimed that when they turned the calibration knob one click the reading changed as much as 8%. One must understand, once you remove the hygrometer from the calibration bag it is going to immediately start reporting the humidity of the room.Therefore, after adjusting the calibration knob (1 click for each percentage point off) and pressing the set button place the hygrometer back in the calibration bag and seal it. Allow the hygrometer reading to stabilize (about 8 hours) and check it again to ensure it reads 75% relative humidity.

This item is much smaller than I expected (approx 1.75" X 2.75") which makes it difficult to put on a table/shelf rather than mounting it on a wall(apparently what it was designed for based on the sticker on the back.) I'm also not sure about the accuracy of the hygrometer since it seems to register several percentage points above or below other hygrometers placed right beside it. (Hrd to know which one is right). Would not buy this product again.
