all-time greatest hits from a new orleans icon, June 9, 1999

the gloriously funky eddie bo recorded several wonderful singles in new orleans during the 1960s. some of them are included on this best of-package, which gives great insight into a long gone era. eddie's piano and vocals are in tip top shape here, and the various crack bands lays down the grandest nawlins beat you're ever likely to hear in this or any other lifetime. as it says; go check mr.popeye...

extremely hip!, April 6, 2006

What can I say? The reason why Eddie Bo isn't a worldwide superstar is beyond me. This music is just as great as the best by Fats D, Little Richard, Archibald, Longhair...you name them...You can't go wrong with this stuff.

Loved that Popeye Song..., January 20, 2008

....but a little Eddie goes a long way. If you're even reading Eddie Bo reviews, the odds are that you want to own this because you're a NO R+B fanatic.
If you're looking to just go further afield from Professor Longhair, I prefer Chris Kenner's rawer sound.
