Great collection!, July 26, 2009

I've listened to a number of these artists over the years, and it's great to hear so much of the Leaf label in this collection. A few are new to me, such as The Sons of Silence, who provide "A Grain of Sand," an acoustic (though electro-sounding) piece that tickles my senses with a bit of free jazz backed by some very cool percussion. My favorites are also represented with good choices from their backlist: Four Tet ("Field"); Beige ("The Rhythm! The Message?"); and of course Murcof ("Mir"). This collection provides a great introduction to the back catalog and stable of musicians connected with Leaf.
