Dance Academy gives you a somewhat romanticized look into the lives and struggles of students at a prestigious ballet school in Sydney. In the second season, the stakes are higher because of a big international competition that is the ballet equivalent to the Olympics. The characters grow and change and there are some surprises towards the end that you didn't see coming! I watched the entire first two seasons over a week on Amazon Instant Video. Just couldn't stop!

Loved everything about it. The characters are real. The dancing is beautiful, but not too much of it. The scenery is beautiful. I would think it would appeal to any age group. I am over 70 and I am watching the first two seasons over again. I hope there will be a 3rd season.

This show is great quality - set in Australia. The ballet dancing is real and good. The plots are interesting and dramatic without being too soapy. The characters change over two seasons and it's fun to follow those stories. I was most surprised by how much I like it as an adult and how current it seems without being too edgy. It's a pretty clean show from what I recall. So glad to see good ballet technique from good actors.

Great show with very real and relatable characters. Clean but not prudish. Good plots and subplots. And, the dancing is fantastic.

The vibe of this show has a feel of the original Degrassi series. Regular people (not beauty queens or geeks) who are very focused on becoming world class dancers. It shows all the hard work involved and rewards of the hard work. The highs and lows of being in such a disciplined career. We love the dancing and also how we have learned a few things along the way. This is a wonderful show for any teen dancer or her Mom. lol

I am a 25 yr old mother of two small boys, so when I saw that the show was geared toward children...I didn't know what to expect. The show sucked me in and the story lines and characters captured my FULL attention. I haven't been able to stop. I emotionally connected to every single character, even the sometimes mean Abigail and heartless Grace. This was also my first time watching an Australian production. I was very impressed. So good and beyond my expectations. I can't wait for Season 3 to be available. Definitely worth taking the time to check this series out!

My 10 year old loved it, Usually when she likes something I find content that I don't wish for her to watch. This show touched some extremely sensitive matters with remarkable tact.
