Product Description

The classic board game of checkers is now available on Kindle.

Choose whether you wish to play against Kindle with up to ten levels of difficulty, or against a friend with Pass 'n' Play mode. You can customize the game with a variety of gameplay options including "Forced Jump" mode, which requires you to jump if you can, and a "Relaxed" mode which does not force you to make a jump. In addition, "Tournament" mode offers a different challenge by randomizing the first three starting moves, leaving you with a different game every time.

Stuck? You can ask for a hint on your next best move or look look for marked pieces to see your options for legal plays. And if all else fails, just undo your last move (or moves) - including all the way back to the beginning of the game if you wish.

Enjoy the classic board game of Checkers on the go!

5.0 out of 5 stars First impressions -- very favorable April 4, 2011

I just downloaded this and am quite pleased. It is nice that for such a simple game (well as compared to backgammon or chess anyway) there are 10, count-em TEN levels. Additionally, you can choose one of 3 options: the "correct" you-have-to-jump-if-you-can way of playing, jumping not mandatory, and a "tournament" option where the Kindle randomly makes the first 3 moves (incidentally an option the Kindle Chess is badly in need of). A very tiny demerit that you can't move pieces by using the arrows (but note that although you have to use the letters exactly what pieces the letters will move and where is always visible on the board so this is not a big drawback). You can also play against another "human", this is good for when you have your kindle but not a checkers set, say on an airplane. Can't think of any other option that could be added that would make the game better, so a definite 5 stars....

5.0 out of 5 stars I found this game to be easy and fun March 27, 2011

The checkers game is easy to use. My recommendation is to read the users manual. It is included and is well written.
The choice of levels of difficulty is great! It gives you a chance to get familiar with how the game works using the less difficulty choice and the graduating to the more difficult opponent as you advance.
Well done. User friendly!

Just in time for our latest road trip, checkers on the kindle! Like the last game from A Gamz, there are a variety of levels to make it appeal to the entire family. This helped us
pass the time. Great fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic Game for the next century March 26, 2011
Verified Purchase
I bought this game yesterday (March 25th) and though I haven't played many games vs. the Kindle yet I found it both fun and challenging. Well worth the .99 cents price tag. It's easy to tell which set of checkers belongs to whom and the controls to move pieces are very easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun playing a classic board game on their Kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for .99 cents - plays well! April 26, 2011

Easy to learn, good graphics and lots of levels. The analytical engine is solid - it will play a wicked game at the mid to upper levels. No push over.

Great for kids, a reading diversion or just killing a little time.

4.0 out of 5 stars good game December 26, 2012
Verified Purchase
This game is a very good game for non-kindle fire products, such as the regular kindle. It put the brain to test in 10 different levels. Also, there are four different game modes on this. Like tournament and multiplayer. Playing with friends i have learned that this game also has a couple down falls. The game is played in force jump or regular. In force jump you have to jump someone if it is convenient or not. In regular the game seems to have many problems such as "echo". This is when an object seems to move from one square to another, but in reality it is still in its regular position. Overall I give this game 4 stars. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Game July 20, 2015

If you like to play checkers, then you should definitely get this game. This little app allows you to play checkers wherever you are as long as you have your Kindle with you. A great feature about this game is that it allows you to select from 10 different difficulty levels! So whether you're a beginner, or an expert, this game will always stay competitive. I would definitely recommend this game for anyone that has a Kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Well Designed August 14, 2011

The fact that the 10 levels are based on skill make this a fun game. You can start at the easiest level and work your way up. You can also choose some of the rules and who goes first. I like this game much better than the Chess game ($2.99) which bases its levels on how long the game "thinks" before making a move. A beginner never has a chance with the Chess game. This game is much better and is 1/3 the price.
