5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Laid Plans...
It isn't often that an author can get so completly into the mind of the person he's writing about. But in this case Flacco did just that. The reader gets to know Peernock over time and it isn't long before he begins to ask how can one man be so callous, so uncaring? Flacco does an excellent job in answering those questions even though there really isn't any good...

2.0 out of 5 stars Overuse of literary techniques = boredom and irritation
I found this book to be incredibly boring. The fact that the author starts the story with the crime itself should have been a tip off that there was going to be a lot of nothing interesting to follow. It would have been fine had the author gone back over the lives of these people to illustrate how they got to that point, but other than to reiterate over and over again...

The reader gets to know Peernock over time and it isn't long before he begins to ask how can one man be so callous, so uncaring? Flacco does an excellent job in answering those questions even though there really isn't any good answer. To probe the mind of a man like Peernock is an overwhelming task but Anthony Falcco was up the job, we got to know Peernock. At the same time, throughout the book the reader is compelled to scream at Claire and Natasha to run, as far and as fast as they can! More Anthony, we want more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to believe this could have happened, but it did!, July 17, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: A Checklist for Murder (Paperback)
As a juror on this trial,I just found out about this book!Ordered it.Read it.Felt the emotion & pain for Natasha & Claire all over again. The facts were written very clearly & precise.I compared many of them to my notes I took during the trial.Incredible!Although some parts of the book were rather "over dramatized",it still held fast to the reality of the facts. To someone else, they might think "No way could this have happened like this. It's too unbelievable".Robert was an evil man-not insane, but greedy, rotten & evil-knew what he wanted-would kill to get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Our creative retreat centered around this book- 5 stars!!!!, August 9, 1998
This review is from: A Checklist for Murder (Paperback)
A brilliantly written mystery of a disturbing father/daughter "relationship." These intricatly woven characters left us feeling unsettled and looking over our shoulders. Robert Peernock doesn't expect his daughter to fight back- I rooted for her throughout. I only wish this story weren't true! Kudos to the author!

Wow! Great story! Mr. Flacco did a wonderfull job relating the story of a family terrorized. 'A Checklist for Murder' brought to life the suffering of Natasha and Claire, the psychotic state of madman Robert Peernock, and the determination of those who would bring him to justice. Time to put it on the big screen!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real psychological thriller from start to finish, February 5, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: A Checklist for Murder (Paperback)
Mr. Flacco's work in unraveling this true story is compelling. Throughout the book, as evil as the crime is, we never lose hope for the victim and the system prevails leaving the readers feeling gratified rather than ripped off. Wonderfully written with great visual imagery. Would make a terrific movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Undaunted spirit survives unfathomable evil, March 31, 2000
This review is from: A Checklist for Murder (Paperback)
Although Mr. Flacco's account is one of incredible horror he also captures the beauty of Natasha's indominable spirit which shines through even the darkest of imaginable terror. Please Anthony, may we have some more?

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding True Crime!, November 17, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: A Checklist for Murder (Paperback)
Anthony Flacco has written a tremendous account of a father, who represents pure evil, and the daughter he tried to murder, a remarkable young woman who survives both physically and mentally. The characters are solid throughout, and Flacco knows his subjects well. Great work.
