This book has been a GREAT reading for our entire family, especially when I throw in goofy sounding voices for the Mouse, Dog, and other characters in this fast moving story. Now we won't have to keep checking it out from our town, or school, library.
Be sure to SING ALONG at the end of the story for lots of true enjoyment, and create a GOOFY voices of your own.

Such a fun book to read to kids. My sons didnt like the cover and didnt want to read about an "ugly mouse". Now they know not to judge a book by its cover.

We orignally took this book out ot the library for my grandson.
He thoroughly enjoyed it and we had to read it too him repeatedly. Decided to purchase it for his 3rd birthday. He was so excited that it was his book and he could keep it.The Cheese

I love this book! New take on The Farmer in the Dell. Great illustrations. Fun to read.

This book is really a very humourous spoof of the song "The Farmer in the Dell." It basically gives you the rats point of view wondering as to why he shouldn't go down to the dell to eat the cheese! Along the way he encounters the characters from the song who tell him he cannot go down and eat this cheese "because the cheese stands alone!" Beautiful illustrations. It is also a nominee for Washington State Childrens Choice Picture Book.

My kids enjoyed this book from start to finish. It was a very creative idea to take the song "The Farmer and The Dell" and develop a whole story out of it! The illustrations were a perfect match for the story telling!

the farmer in the dell was a song i taught in elementary school. this real cute book is what if the cheese wanted to stand alone. illustrations are cute, easy to read to children and fun.

I teach third grade, and my students LOVED this book! Sad to say; but I had to acquaint them with the song/game of "The Farmer in the Dell" first. Then they really "got it"! GREAT BOOK!!!!!

We checked this book out at our local library. My sons asked me to read it again and again. It is witty, and funny. We laughed along with our kids over and over again. So, we bought it through Amazon.
