This book is a grabber. Couldn't put it down. The girlfriends in the book became my girlfriends too, right from the start. A good storyline, one we can identify with but interesting to see how the girls dealt with different situations.
A must read. Can't wait for the next book!

I meet the author at rochdale festival and she was very friendly. Aside, from that the book was excellent and i would read it again! It is a great read!

Cheese Cake and Teardrops is a wonderful book. When I first started to read this book I thought I wasted my money because it starts off slow during the first few chapters but then it just explodes and it became an instant classic for me. It's a good page turner and it takes you on a good roller coaster ride. It has everything: suspense, mystery, romance and very funny. This is the kind of book I wish I wrote. ( slapping myself upside my head )

I wish I could give this book a zero. First, who wrote this book? A high school dropout? It was boring, stale, rushed, too many repeated cliches' and poorly written. It was always "Heather said, Charisma said, Tangit said" and that is one thing I HATE ..is a bunch of 'saids' What happened to showing emotions (hello, action verbs) I like very detailed written books and this was far from it. I got no real emotion or visuals. I checked it out after seeing all the raves about the book. It fell short and flat. Everything was happening unrealistically fast without any detailed information on the characters background. This book is definetly for the lonely type. Even Heather's lesbian ordeal was stupid. What the heck is a 'honey nugget?' This book went totally in the wrong direction and whoever wrote need to be slapped with a thesarus!

This story was slow to develop i must say but it was worth it. I could relate to each women and the problems they had.

Charisma, Tangie, and Heather have been friends since their college days. At least twice a month they get together for dinner and drinks to discuss the latest news in their lives. Charisma believes one shouldn't mix romance where you earn your finance but lately her new boss, Nate, keeps invading her thoughts. Tangie has a long-term boyfriend named Blade but he doesn't seem to want to advance their relationship and his roaming eye doesn't help. Heather is slightly overweight and has the dream of becoming a high fashion model. She has spent countless hours and who knows how much money on weight loss gimmicks, her weight didn't start to fall off until an old friend introduced her to Z3K. Now add to the mix: Tangie's racist boss, Stone Canyon and the love of her life, Tony; Charisma's co-worker who insists on sleeping her way to the top, Chase Martini; and Heather's lesbian high school classmate, Ava.

Thompson has written about the sista friends we all have - career driven, men crazed, and those not sure on their sexual orientation...those we exercise consistently, those we eat to solve emotional issues and those that are afraid to commit. Everyone can find aspects of the characters that they can identify with and empathize with others. The story was slow to develop but fascinating once it did. The characters point of view was depicted in chapters bearing their names which made you wait for their plot line at times. The epilogue neatly wrapped up all the loose ends providing a near perfect ending. As Charisma, Tangie and Heather say countless times in the book, "BEHIND EVERY SUCCESSFUL WOMAN IS HERSELF!"

I loved the book. The charactors were well thought out and it was a really good read. I was suprised by the turn on of the charactors took, but all in all, great book. I really hope there is a sequel to this book.

This book was a fast read. The action starts right from the beginning and continues through out the book. You won't want to put it down once you start. Can't wait for her next book to come out. Readers can relate to the characters.
