PERFECT CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY GIFT For Your Griller:
If your husband, dad, brother, uncle, cousin or boyfriend is the GRILLING BBQ sort, this is an excellent gift to introduce him (or yourself, g'head) to the yummy joys of Chef Prudhomme Blackened Steak Magic. You might have to backorder it, because I think we bought them out when we stocked up! I don't know about you, but a bunch of the men in my family and my life have often been challenging to shop for a suitable holiday gift for them. Yeah, short of purchasing a $100K sports car for them.... But almost every guy I know loves meat and loves to grill, even if it is just in their own bachelor kitchen.

OK, so yes, I'm a fan.

What you have to know is that before, I used to be a steak purest. Salt and freshly ground pepper only please thank you. I nearly didn't even TRY a TASTE of the steak when my sister first introduced me to Chef Paul Prudhomme's Blackened Steak Magic. However, once I did, I absolutely love and adore it. It tastes SO yummy on a steak.

I see a number of the other reviewers here like it on burgers, so I will have to try that now that we have PLENTY!

It used to be easy to find Chef Paul Prudhomme's Blackened Steak Magic at the grocery store.

But not anymore.

If they carry any of Chef Paul Prudhomme's Blackened rubs, they don't carry the Blackened Steak rub. This is very annoying. I also had to double check to be careful when I purchased the 2 canister vats of the rub that I was indeed ordering the CORRECT rub. The purple label.

OK, in case you haven't read the suggestion on the package, one of the ways that Chef Paul Prudhomme himself recommends that you enjoy this is to deglaze the pan with, yes, heavy cream.

This stuff is a miracle powder. It makes any steak taste AMAZING! I do have to give credit to the cook of course but we use this on Fillet Mignon every Sunday for football dinner and we just cannot get enough of it. They stopped selling it at the local Ralph's and we were going through it so fast. You should use A LOT when you use it. Cake it on and push/dab it in to the steak (do not rub). It will blacken the steak but adds some amazing flavor!

Ok not really but this stuff is great! It's best with steak but works with any meat really, particularly if you're grilling. Fire it on some chicken and put it with some alfredo. Mix it in your hamburger. Top off your bacon. It's really great for making anything "blackened", though beware that process produces a lot of smoke, I wouldn't suggest doing it inside.

I was in New Orleans and ate at K-Pauls and had their blackened steak. I returned to that restaurant numerous times and upon coming home, I immediately ordered some of his Seafood blend and the blackened steak blend. I absolutely love this spice blend. I have an iron skillet and I prepare the steaks per the instructions and it has been a BIG hit at my house. My guest think I'm a chef. If you want to kick up your steaks or seafood dinners, I highly recommend this seasoning.

I used this for years when we lived in Rhode Island. Since moving to New Jersey, I was unable to find it. I found other flavors, but was unable to locate the Blackened Steak. My family loves everything I make with this!

I like it overall but there is a spice in it that is a little different than anything I usually use. I am still getting used to it. I like that it is all natural with no additives or MSG.

After getting sick of paying 6 plus dollars retail we bought these two 20oz containers of blackened steak magic (which is good for a variety of meats). Literally each is an old school oil can full of spice and completely worth the twenty bucks.

Best seasoning out there. Little butter on some rib eyes and throw them on cast iron skillet 3 minutes a side.
