5.0 out of 5 stars LOTS of great tips that doesn't feel like a COMPELTE repetition of what other books have already said
I found this book by accident while shopping at a local supermarket right. Since I just had a baby and felt like I was battling baby fat AND a hormonal imbalance, this book caught my attention. So, I flipped through it, thought the info and recipes looked interesting, and so I bought it.

1.0 out of 5 stars no pictures in cookbook
I have never seen a cookbook that did not have any pictures. None. I would not have purchased had I known. Would not recommend.

I found this book by accident while shopping at a local supermarket right. Since I just had a baby and felt like I was battling baby fat AND a hormonal imbalance, this book caught my attention. So, I flipped through it, thought the info and recipes looked interesting, and so I bought it.

I've read the book and have made three of the recipes so far. I absolutely LOVE this book!!! Not only is the information fresh and doesn't feel like a repeat of all the other diet & hormone imbalance books I've read, but the meals are delicious, quick, AND simple! I have a ton of cookbooks but this one gets a lot of attention...and for a good reason. I highly recommend this book.

This book has great information for eating healthy and preventing disease at the same time. I had a hard time getting started in it because it is strickly print, no color or illustrations at all. But once I got started I found it had very helpful information. We all need to be aware of healthier ways to prepare our food.

While there are many healthy cookbooks on the market, this one has been the most helpful in putting together a weeks worth of meals. I find it easy to follow. The recipes are a little special which I love. And, I learn something reading this book.

I love cookbooks, and I also love to learn more about the food I am making. This book has both, and it's written in a very readable and entertaining manner. Furthermore, the information in "What do I Eat for That?" is very useful. I would recommend this book to anyone! Dr. Puma also has a great website, [...], that I also highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars All the Things You've Heard About Healthy Eating - All in This One Book!, December 27, 2011

Before I got this book (as a gift), I was as lost as everyone else in the maze of information and misinformation about which foods do what for you. Now I have all that information in one place. La Puma breaks nutrition down into an understandable and readable format. What foods are the best for fighting cancer? Which have the most nutrition per bite? What vitamins are in different foods and how do you get a balance? I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer over a year ago and have found this book to be very helpful in my new regimen for staying as healthy as I can for as long as I can. And I truly believe it has helped. I was only supposed to live for about 2 months, and I'm still going strong and feeling well after 14 months. I only wish this had been available 20 years ago. I firmly believe I could have avoided what I'm now going through. So whether you are sick or healthy, this book will help you. It's not about "exotic" foods or macrobiotics or being vegan, although there are things that will appeal to everyone on every path. It's about every day foods - with Top Ten lists for categories such as beans, grains, vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc. Each food item is described in terms of what nutrition it offers, what health issues it addresses, and other valuable categories. EASY to grasp and easy to reference when you need to. Fascinating and valuable. I strongly recommend it to everyone.
