Tastes like food coloring (which it is!

I was decorating a cake with warmer gold colors, like an orange, and I was hoping the spray was going to be that color.

What a waste of time and money and all my excitement was for nothing.

This is a great product. It gets great coverage with no clogging, dries quickly, doesn't change the taste, and is easier to use than an airbrush. My only complaint is that if something brushes up against whatever you sprayed with this stuff, the shine will come off and attach itself to whatever brushed up against it. After you spray, be sure not to move the cake too much or brush up against it.

Used this to spray a castle cake (Nordic ware castle bundt pan). It looked really great and everyone was impressed. And it was wicked easy. I blocked off the castle "door" so it wouldn't get sprayed and would retain its chocolate color--it seemed a bit more realistic that way. Oh, and I did not notice any distinguishable flavor and no one complained (which my family would feel free to do).

I've used Wilton sprays before and they run through your stencil but this spray ... it's the perfect consistency and is very easy to use (even for beginners). I would HIGHLY recommend this and won't buy any other brand if I can help it!

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what I expected when I ordered this product on a sleep-deprived-induced whim. It came packaged neatly, and the can looks exactly like it does in the picture. However while it is deemed edible, the flavor is something resembling a highly chemical-like tasting vanilla, not unlike cheap lipglosses from a while back. The color is vibrant, but on darker surfaces, such as brownies, resembles more of a caution-tape yellow than a true gold.

It's easy to apply and is a fun novelty item, especially for the holidays. I don't regret buying it, but I'm not going to be replenishing my stock of this anytime soon.

Chefmaster Edible Gold Spray is a really fun, simple and glitzy way I have used to add the finishing touch to some of my frosted sugar cookies and a number of cakes including wedding cakes. In general the product is easy to use and the 2oz. can holds enough spray to "shimmerize" dozens of cookies and act as a final coat to cake icing which has already been applied and allowed to set until set to the touch.
Before applying for the first time, I suggest experimenting by spraying on a paper towel to become familiar with the right amount of sprayer pressure. Less is definitely preferable to over application. Several light applications are less likely to avoid a little pooled spot here and there. Keep your hand moving lightly and quickly over the item you are decorating. If minor spotting should occur let the spray dry somewhat and then blend the blemish in with a small dry paint brush. My customers like this product!

Spray painted an apple gold, gave it to the wrong goddess... Whoops.

But actually, this paint is absolutely fun to mess around with. The small can lasts surprisingly long, and although it gives the food a slightly weird flavor, the experience of eating a slice of metallic gold pizza is something you can't really replicate.

I wish I read all of the reviews first. Good points: Taste is pleasant, sprayer works well and easy for a beginner. Bad: Finish when dry is dull!!! I realize the seller isn't the manufacturer, but they should know what they're selling. I wish they would have noted in the description that this dries down matte. Perhaps someone made note of this in a review but in case they didn't I'm pointing it out here. We won't be able to use it for it's intended purpose.

This by far exceeded my expectations of this spray.
One little can goes a long way, and covers very thoroughly just like a spray paint would.
I probably could have gotten away with regular white fondant instead of coloring it gray in advance. I made a cake to look like a car engine and needed a metallic/chrome finish, this made it look very realistic.

I would suggest to do this in an environment that is ok to get extra glittery, because since it is an aerosol there is some glitter that becomes airborne as you spray.
