Not the best for a garlic lover,
By
This review is from: Chef'n Garlic Zoom, Avocado (Kitchen)
We use a lot of garlic on a daily basis in most of our dinners. This was a cute gadget we got for a gift, and I was curious to see if it worked better then my other garlic chopping methods.
For a REALLY big lot of garlic, I use my Ninja Food Master Prep. Otherwise for everyday cooking, depending on the size I need the garlic, I will either use a microplane which is fast and efficient, or a good sharp knife. I personally like to do chopping and prep work, so I didn't neccessarily need a "garlic gadget". While this item works fine, it only does a couple cloves at a time, and seems like a total pain to scrap out over and over. If it was larger, it would make sense. It might be a nice accessory to have for someone who only likes a hint of gasrlic, but for the garlic lover, look elsewhere.

Don't Bother,
By Taylor (Denver, Co) - See all my reviews

I bought this b/c it was cute and I thought it might make chopping lots of garlic easier. It's more work using this then just chopping by hand. It gets jammed up easily. It's hard to get the garlic out and so much garlic is stuck on the blades, inside parts, against the walls that it wastes a lot. I would say you get half as much garlic as you would if you chopped the same amount by hand. Then to make it all worse, it's a pain in the butt to clean. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars rather than 1 is b/c it's cute and b/c the garlic you do get from it is chopped up well.

I wanted it to work...,
This review is from: Chef'n Garlic Zoom, Avocado (Kitchen)
I wanted this to work, I really did. It's so cute! How could you not love it?
Well, it doesn't actually cut garlic. At all. It can get a blade about a third of the way through, then it just kind of scoots along the counter, pushing the clove in front of it. No increase in speed or pressure will power through. It's a pain to clean, too, but since you'll probably only use it once before giving up on it, that hardly matters.
