The bodies of the Chef'n PepperBall and Salt Ball are constructed of sturdy, clear plastic with "rabbit-ear" handles made of soft rubber grip pads. The durable grinder mechanisms--metal for the pepper and ceramic for the salt--are adjustable to five coarseness levels. Small knobs on the underside of the grinders turn to the right for coarse and the left for finer grinds. Easy-slide refill windows make replenishing the salt and pepper supplies a snap.
The Mini Magnetic set has strong, built-in magnets for easy storage on refrigerators or other metal surfaces. This handy feature plus the size of the grinders makes them very portable. The set comes filled with coarse sea salt and black peppercorns. They each measure 3-3/4 inches tall by 2 inches wide. --Garland Withers

I got these as a gift and really do like them. I just stick them to the fridge (magnets) and always know where they are. They are easy to use altho I do find they release less salt or pepper than you first think....so you have to squeeze more times than you normally would. It takes some getting used to.
This is very handy to have, easy to use and its nice to have a small set to pass around at the table. I am also glad you can graind the salt...some sets are for grinding pepper but not the salt.

Perhaps the larger model works well. This smaller magnetic set is tragic. The only upside is that if you're working on your grip strength, these will probably help. To get a useable amount of pepper, you'll have to squeeze 15-20 times. They feel cheap and destined for a quick trip to the trash can. Stick with a tried and true twist grinder.

With these salt and pepper grinders you're less likely to over-spice your food. My grandson (5 years old) loves using the salt grinder. It's fun for him, and he gets to salt his food without overdoing it. Some people might not like the small quantity you get with each grind, but I think it's a plus.
