5.0 out of 5 stars ONE GRIND I DON'T MIND!
This nifty gadget allows me to grind salt with one hand as I cook. And, it's a fun addition to a dining table with its very contemporary rather whimseical design.

3.0 out of 5 stars Chef'n Salt Grinding Ball, Clear
Was so anxious to receive this item since I love Himalayan sea salt. Within 2 weeks, however, the coarse/fine adjustment jammed and now I can only get fine grind!

The handles that you grip are padded thus ergonomically friendly and enable gripping without slipping. A dial selector on the base of the salt ball provides options for coarseness of grind, and it comes equipped with a refull funnel. Plus, it comes filled with salt.

This is one grind I'll never mind! Thanks, Chef'n!

4.0 out of 5 stars We love it!, July 17, 2003
This review is from: Chef'n Salt Grinding Ball, Clear (Kitchen)
Very easy to grind, holds a lot of pepper, and well made. I should think that especially for an older person, or someone with carpal tunnel, or weak hands, this would be wonderful.

We are very happy with it, and I'd be happy to buy more. The only caveats of this thing are: it feels, while not cheaply made, not as sturdy as it could have been, and though ours is fine, ti's only six months old. I don't know how long it will really last - maybe five years? Also, while we love the capacity, that capacity comes at a price in terms of table real estate - it takes up a fair amount of room.

But it grinds peper into nice, largish chunks, to let the true pepperiness through, and I like it better than our wooden grinders. Great stuff!

I really like these Chef-n Salt and Pepper grinders. It's easy to grind one-handed with them, and I like the control it offers for the amount of spice I grind.

4.0 out of 5 stars no batteries required, January 14, 2011

One of the most annoying things about grinders, especially for sea salt which are near impossible to find, are that they all use batteries. These are a great response to that. I'm not quite sure how long they'll hold up since it's all plastic rubbing against plastic, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. No need to change batteries, and are really easy to use and don't require too much strength. The seller took a little while to ship, but they did get to my house in the amount of time they said it would take.

I saw Ming Tsai using a pepper grinder like this and decided I would buy one of each. My hands will no longer turn stiff grinders so the squeeze technique is great - so great my nephew took it and now I must buy another.
