Product Description

Chef'n Sift'n Sieve Flour Sifter and Sieve

Any baker knows the secret to fluffy waffles and smooth purees is a good flour sifter. But at Chef’n we never stop at good enough. We’ve taken the traditional flour sifter and added a sieve, a marriage of tools saving you time and space.

Chef'n's 2-in-1 Sift'n Sieve Flour Sifter and Sieve features a wide edge and a clip on scraper.
Drop flour on the sifter and tap the sides lightly over a bowl to aerate flour and give it a uniform consistency before adding to mixes or recipes. The wide edge rests on any 4-quart sized bowl.
The included scraper presses berries, making the sifter surface become a sieve for creating the perfect berry purees. The scraper then stores discretely, never to be misplaced among kitchen drawers.
All parts and pieces of the Sift’n Sieve are top-rack dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
A low profile design and the clip-on scraper makes the Sift'n Sieve easier to store than typical wire-frame sifters.
Whether it's for baked goodies or pureed berries, the Sift'n Sieve is the perfect addition to any kitchen. By Chef'n.

Great for baking and it seems it would work well for crafting, too.

This is a multi-tasker tool, but I love it for how fabulously it dusts your working surface for rolling out pie crusts and working dough (cookie, biscuit or pasta).

This design is better, as it allows one to draw every last bit out, without waste!

Not much to say about such a simple device!

It is a sifter. It has a fine stainless steel mesh and a red plastic frame. The plastic is very sturdy, does not feel cheap. The stainless steel mesh seems to really be well ingrained inside the plastic. It seems the plastic is most likely molded into it, as I cannot find any sort of slot to indicate it is merely glued in or held in by pressure. I would count on this device to hold the mesh longer than a cheap all stainless steel type, as the mesh always seems to be held in by 'pinching' the metal around it, some sort of glue, or weak welds.

It has a nice feature of a little scraper built into the handle. This is very useful for when I am using berry puree, and need to remove the seeds. It makes a HUGE mess to draw the puree over a colander with your hand, and the little spatula over the flat mesh is much easier, cleaner, and less wasteful.

I grew up with an old fashioned sifter, the type that was a can with a piece of mesh on the bottom and a handle to turn a lever that rotated over the sieve. It inevitably always left a bit of stuff that the handle missed, and it was too difficult to try to draw it over the mesh by hand. So the extra was always anticipated, then poured back into the flour bag. This design is better, as it allows one to draw every last bit out, without waste! The little spatula built in is just plain handy so I don't have to dig something rigid out to get those last bits through.

This design, while easier to work with, is also less space conscious. It is easy enough to stack, but when in a small kitchen, it most likely will be one of those things that would be skipped over to save room. The built in spatula was REALLY firmly in place the when I first used it.

The flour sifter and sieve is a happy little addition to my kitchen. The 2-in-1 style lets you sift and sieve. Other sifters I have owned have rusted after using them. This sturdy sifter is easily cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher and you never have to worry about it rusting. And, it' easier to sift flour with a gentle shaking motion instead of the old-fashioned crank style.
The scraper that is attached to the sieve is so handy. You're not searching through a cabinet or drawer looking for it. I especially like using the scraper for strawberries when making a warm strawberry sauce to go over a nice pound cake. And, I used the sifter for the flour in the cake. So, two uses for one handy gadget that is easily cleaned. Can't get much simplier than that, thank you very much!

While this sifter/sieve is different from the cannister-type sifters I have owned in the past, I am pleased with its features. It works well over large mixing bowls, especially when you need to incorporate sifted flour into a batter. Also it helps eliminate lumps when adding flour to a skillet or pan when making gravy or a sauce. I have found that it works well for draining pasta, potatoes, and veggies as it fits perfectly on the tops of my 4 qt., 8 qt., and 12 qt. pots keeping the contents in the warm pot while draining out the liquid. The handles on the sieve line up with the handles on the pot making it easy to drain the pot without losing your grip on either one. While it also fits over my 10" skillets, I would not recommend leaving it on top of the skillet for any length of time while the skillet is over the burner just in case it gets too hot. It is sturdily constructed of a fine mesh with a rigid plastic frame and the scraper fits snuggly into one of the handles. Best of all, it is top rack dishwasher safe!

Very sturdy and the little scraper built into the handle is a handy addition. Fits perfectly on top of the stand mixer bowl.

Love this. I bought it to help make better macaroons after first purchasing an old fashion flour sifter like my grandmother had. This one is so much better! I've put it through the dishwasher a couple of times now and it is holding up great. I've put almond meal, regular flour, and powdered sugar through it - does the job for all of them. Handy clip on spot for the scraper - now I just have to teach my husband and my kids where it goes so that it doesn't get lost :)

Wow! What a great upgrade from the old style crank or squeeze handle sifters I have. This is so much faster! I just hated sifting ingredients before and now I look forward to it. I read that some chefs use a wire whisk to stir the ingredients while using this sifter and it makes it super fast, no shaking the unit. I store it on top of my kitchenaid bowl. I have not used it for fruit, only dry ingredients. Love it!

Much, much better than the classic style sifter with a squeeze handle and so much faster. Typically, I'll put a piece of wax paper on the counter and sift directly onto it, but sometimes straight into my mixing bowl. This sifter appears well constructed and should last a long time. I'm happy with my purchase and have donated my other sifters to the Goodwill.
