Pluses and minuses, May 12, 2010
This review is from: Chefs Basics HW5268 12-Piece Stainless-Steel Barbecue Set with Bonus Digital-Thermometer Fork and Carrying Case (Lawn & Patio)
I ordered 6 of this grill set as a gift for my groomsmen (and 1 for me). Here are, as I see it, the pluses and minuses of this set:
Pluses:
-Price
-Compact
-Lots of tools
-Wood is a nice quality, and the utensils feel firm and strong.
-Came with a meat thermometer fork, which I have yet to use, but seems pretty cool.
Minuses:
-The cases all came extreme scratched up, despite being in boxes.
-The pieces often fall out of place in the case (not fitted to hold tightly).
-The corn on the cob pieces didn't all match, which I found particularly bizarre.
-The grill cleaning utensil was pretty much useless. The brisels are too few and far apart.
I picked this set because I don't like the metal handle ones, as they often get rusty and then look bad. I am fairly pleased with it for the price, but I would say that if it's a gift for someone who may be particular about the condition of the set and the potential condition of it's contents, maybe look elsewhere.
