2.0 out of 5 stars Very slow reading
This thermometer can take 20 to 30 seconds to find the correct temperature. That's way too long and makes it practically useless as a BBQ thermometer.

Some call me a connoisseur, however even if you don't believe you are one you will still love this meat thermometer. I would definitely recommend it to pros, but even to the not-so-seasoned chef or grill-master. Reasons being: reads temperature speedily, accurately (tested against other non-digital thermometers); and most of all (the reason i think anyone can buy this) it's ease of use and interesting functions.

Although, it could be that i purchased one of the last ones in-stock. I think this is a rare find. But i do remember it being out-of-stock here a bit before i purchased it but i bought it as soon as it came in. :-) sorry bout that guys. I think amazon might have an alert thingy to notify you via email when/if it does come back in stock...

Anyways Happy Hunting! (for the deal. lol)

btw i personally do not hunt but i also don't have anything against it being done LEGALLY if hunting is something that floats your boat. but yes i meant deal hunting.

I've been searching for a meat thermometer that would hold up to lots of use and washing. While this thermometer looked tough, it was completely useless. The settings were easily set to "well done pork" but I could not get it to tell me my meat was done even though it was nearly burnt. So, I tested the thermometer in boiling water which read a cool 160 degrees. The thermometer is off by over 50 degrees! Useless.
