4.0 out of 5 stars good quality, great price
This fully stainless steel pressure cooker comes with a steaming basket and two weights (6+11.4 psi) all stainless. I was supprised at how solidly built it is, for $40 with free shipping i could not have asked for more. I used it over thanksgiving to cook everything in minutes. The only thing that keeps this from the fifth star is that the lid is slightly more difficult...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great product - TERRIBLE CUSTOM SERVICE
This is a very well built pressure cooker, solid and easy to use. However, the first Chef's Design P.C. I purchased via Amazon broke within weeks. The heavy gauge plastic pressure release valve broke and stays locked in "release" position. The price was better than any other, so I simply bought another. The new one is terrific and we use it regularly without any issues...

I was supprised at how solidly built it is, for $40 with free shipping i could not have asked for more. I used it over thanksgiving to cook everything in minutes. The only thing that keeps this from the fifth star is that the lid is slightly more difficult to place on the pot then some models, but seals easily and I had no problem with it while cooking. The weights are of a non-rocking veriety, so the steam engine effect, which some find disturbing, is not a problem with this cooker.

One of the best pressure cookers I have used since I left the farm years ago. Very high quality and cooks fast with only medium heat. Cooks both meats and vegetables even and complete without being over done or mushy. Highly recommend this unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soooooooo Good, September 18, 2004

This review is from: Chef's Design 6.4-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
I am so please with this Pressure Cooker. It's easy to use and cleans up in a snap. Even the lid is easy to clean. It's a breeze putting the lid on and taking off the cooker. An the three different ways of cooling down are great for all different types of foods that I cook in it. Surpisingly Sooooooo Good. Watch out for some of the receipts that comes with this cooker. The amount of liquid in some receipts are not enought. The Beef Stroganoff needs about a cup of water for my taste. It only calls for 1 tbls of Warchester Sauce. Now that's a little dry for me. I found some great receipts on the internet and from friends. Still the best pot for the size and money.

this is my first pressure pot, I choose this one after reading reviews.
1. looks pretty good, nice quality stainless steel, and bonus pot cover.
2. size is good to serve 4 to 8 people.
3. Cooking time is longer than I expected. Still in the process of learning how to use it.
4. I did not have the issue to peeling of the sticker, it almost fall itself.

Real quality product, didn't expect the glass cover! (see Pic submitted) Gives great value for money, presicion comes with use. Also sticker comes right off with a hair dryer without a mess. The Free shipping makes it an awsome deal. I have owned a prestige and fagor--this product tops them with its quality; good metal and parts.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great product - TERRIBLE CUSTOM SERVICE, December 14, 2009

The cooker gets 5 stars, but Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Co. gets no stars for their rude phone reps and evasive warranty policies.
Their warranty clearly states, " if the product becomes defective within the warranty period, Wisconsin Aluminum will replace or repair it at our discretion." It also states that they will not cover damage to the product resulting from misuse, overheating, accidents or alteration to the product. NO WHERE DOES IT STATE THAT W.A. ONLY COVERS THE ACTUAL STAINLESS STEEL CONTAINER - NOT THE PLASTIC RELEASE HANDLE, which was the first thing out of their customer services mouth!
When I called them to let W.A. know I was about to send the lid back, the rep promptly told me that the pot I purchased in late 2004 was in fact 14 years old and they didn't make it anymore and wouldn't fix it. I explained that I recently bought the same item for a second time on Amazon a few months go and assured her that they DO still make it. She than told me that I shouldn't have waited to send it back and than I wouldn't have and to purchase a new one. That may be true, but it was still defective and should be covered by the warranty of 10 years!
I should be considered a GOOD CUSTOMER since I returned to buy another from them, but instead I was treated like a kid that got caught chewing gum in school.
FINALLY after objections, explanations and not letting the Rep push me around, she opted to just send me the 2 plastic parts that were dysfunctional, to be fixed by myself...
WISCONSIN ALUMINUM Co. , if you don't want to honor your 10 year warranty...you must be sure to state that your crummy warranty only covers the stainless steel part of the item and NOT the plastic release handles. And teach your customer service folks to be polite. We shouldn't be made to feel like we're being put on trail with Judge Judy just to get one of your items repaired that was faulty in the first place!
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

2.0 out of 5 stars Problem with pressure safety valve, November 9, 2009
This review is from: Chef's Design 6.4-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
Nice heavy stainless cooker. However, a small metal cylinder fell out of the safety valve in the upper side handle of the lid. It appears something has gone missing e.g. a spring or fastener, but the troubleshooting section of the users' manual makes no mention of the safety valve and I cannot find a local distributer to repair it. Now the pot is useless as a pressure cooker because the open hole makes it impossible to build pressure.

5.0 out of 5 stars just as described, June 23, 2008
This review is from: Chef's Design 6.4-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
This is a great kitchen item to have. It costs a bit more because of the stainless steel construction, but it certainly seems worth the extra dollars. Anyone can use this correctly with great results; if you are new to pressure cooking, do yourself a favor and read the booklet.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's cooking, June 9, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chef's Design 6.4-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
This was exactly what I had wanted in a pressure cooker: right size, stainless steel and the safety valve. Now it's been 4 years and I still use it on the regular basis. Pressure cooker cuts my cooking time and saves energy. What I also love about it is that it converts into a regular stock pot or steamer with the additional glass cover included.

It is quite heavy. But that's what's expected for a quality pressure cooker. And the issue with sticker, yes, it's a bit sticky for a while. The good news is it does come off after N times wash.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Pressure cooker, June 1, 2007

This review is from: Chef's Design 6.4-Quart Stainless-Steel Pressure Cooker (Kitchen)
This is the third pressure cooker that I own but the first one of this brand. I am very pleased with the speed which it cooks and best of all, the cooker keeps all the juices and liquids in, they do not evaporate, like they did with my old pressure cookers. Tough cuts of meat cook to very tender pieces in a short time. I also like the two different pressure gages. The cooker is made of stainless steel; however, it's not as heavy duty steel as the cookers made 25 or 30 years ago.
