Works great at first,

This review is from: Chef's Fork Digital Meat Thermometer
We got this as a present and it worked great at first. Loved all the different modes (beef, lamb, chicken, etc.) but after about a year, the display started to go. We could still read the temperature but the incremental bars didn't show and it was difficult to see which mode we were in. We are looking for a new thermometer for the grill. If you buy this, you'll be happy for a while but get ready for dissapointment.

Received this as a gift, and wasn't sure I'd ever use it. Once I used the first time, I was hooked. It will allow you to see the exact internal temperature of the meat you're cooking, plus allow you to select the type of meat (beef, pork, chicken, etc). The display changes colors along with the LCD gauge to let you know how close your meat is to being "done". I especially like this feature for pork and chicken, where internal temperatures are important in keeping your food safe to eat.

i bought this thermometer because i am new to grilling and have a hard time knowing when meat is done. It worked fine the first time when I cooked burgers. Read 160 degrees and the burgers were good. The second time i used it to cook pork steaks. I went by the time in the recipe and used the thermometer when they were almost done after about 20 minutes. The thermometer read 43 degrees. I left it in for several minutes waiting for it to go up. It went up to 50 degrees. I cut into the pork and it was done about medium well. I thought this was just a fluke. Tonight I cooked an $18.00 Porter House steak. After 4 minutes on each side, high heat, I checked the steak with the thermometer. It read 43 degrees. I left the thermometer in for a minute, it read 50 degrees. I pulled the steak off. When i cut into it it was a perfect medium rare. If I could rate this lower than one star I would. It is pure JUNK.CHEF'S FORK with THERMOMETER

I'd been looking for a thermometer for a while, I recently started trying my hand at grilling, when this came along I jumped on it. So far, I've only used it for chicken breasts but it works awesomely. It gives you a graphical readout as well as temperature and wording, such as "DONE". Easy clean up, auto off, works well, recommended highly.

This is perfect for grilling small pieces on the grill where one of those bigger leave in probes is too large. This is perfect for chicken breasts, tenderloins and steaks. I love it, the results have been perfect every time I use it.

Always Perfect Chef Fork,
This review is from: Chef's Fork Digital Meat Thermometer
Purchased Always Perfect Chef's Fork with Digital Meat Thermometer for Father's Day. We have tried to use it and it works sort of. It registered a temperature and then when we tried to recheck several minutes later it registered exactly the same. Not sure if works properly?!

My son is very hard to buy presents for, so when I saw this fork with cooking thermometer, I knew it was just the thing. He does a lot of barbecuing, and has often commented that it is hard to be sure when the food is cooked enough, especially chicken. I ordered it fairly close to Christmas and was worried it might not make it in time. It arrived so fast I couldn't believe it! My son was really pleased with it and can't wait to use it now. His wife had to convince him it was too cold and snowy out to try it out right away, but I know that he will be out there with it as soon as the snow melts!

I was looking for an iPhone cover that looks and feels smooth like a "naked" phone, but with protection in the event I dropped the unit. Fry's Electronic and Best Buy, both with numerous covers, did not have anything that met my criteria. A friend who works in an Apple store showed me his cover. Bingo! It was exactly what I was looking for. Once the cover is snapped on, the phone feels just like when it came out of the box, but with good corner and screen protection.
