I received this timer as a gift and have found it to be very useful. The timer is designed to keep track of up to 4 burners at once. I've never seen a feature like this on other timers and it's very helpful. The display is very easy to read and it's simple to operate.

Basically, the timer is designed to track up to 4 different items on your stove. The display will indicate which burners you are timing. In addition to using the timer this way, I have used it in other ways as well. For example, if I have 2 things in the oven for different lengths of time, I can set the timer to keep track of each of these seperately. The display will even alert you to which item will be the next to be done.

Additionally, there is a convenient 'batch' mode that allows you to push one button and the previous timed amount is displayed. This is very useful for baking cookies. For example, if you have a batch in for 10 minutes, when that batch is done, you only have to push one button and you are ready to put in another batch for 10 min.

The timer is solidly built but not too heavy. I carry it around the house with me when I am baking so I will hear when it goes off. The stainless steel version of the timer looks great in my kitchen.

I have used my timer for several months and have even ordered and given away several more of these as gifts to my friends who like to cook.

Most important is that once you pass 30 minutes, you can only set it in intervals of 5 minutes. 32 or 33 minutes? Sorry, out of luck...you have to go to 35-40-45, etc. This is a serious limitation for me.

It does count up after the beep if it is not turned off. This is good.

And it has a nice, upright stance with a weighted bottom that make it easy to see, and it has a solid feel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Kitchen Timer, April 2, 2007
This review is from: Chef's Quad-Timer Professional (Brushed Stainless) (Kitchen)
This is a great kitchen timer. I use this timer almost every day. Not only has it been great for use in the kitchen, we have also found it great at the poker table for timing blind increases!!! The brushed stainless steel and black finish is very stylish and will fit into any kitchen. This timer is multi-functional, very well constructed, and extremely easy to use making it a very highly recommended product.Chef's Quad-Timer Professional (Brushed-Stainless)

Spent way too much time checking out all the different timers available here and reading everyone's reviews. Kept ending up back at the Chef's Quad Timer but hesitated due to some negative reviews. Ordered it finally and am VERY pleased with my decision. THIS WORKS GREAT AND IS SO EASY TO USE!!!!!!

The instructions are very simple, the inner ring to adjust time settings is rubberized and easy to turn and the timer works perfectly!! Can't wait until I have 4 different dishes to time to really give this a good test drive!

4.0 out of 5 stars around the clock, August 9, 2007

I use the quad timer to keep track of my study/practice time - and break length - and have found it to work admirably well.
The look is elegant and the materials feel sturdy.
The functionality is a tad odd, but once I got used to it, I have had no trouble.
I might take this on the road as an alarm clock, but it would need to have an alarm that starts quietly and gets louder for me to love that much. Don't expect to put it into a pocket, it's not petite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool 4-in-1 Cooking Timer, September 6, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chef's Quad-Timer Professional (Brushed Stainless) (Kitchen)
This is a neat kitchen timer that tracks four cooking operations at the same time, and also has an array of four LEDs in quadrants representing the four burners on your stove. When an item is cooking, its LED will glow green; when the timer reaches zero, the LED will turn red, and the timer will then count upwards, indicating time elapsed since the cooking time expired.

I also like the timer's intuitive, ergonomic controls; the nice, loud alarm; and the sleek design with compact footprint. Plus the unit seems well made of high-quality materials.

I haven't had the problem with short battery life claimed by another customer, but then, I don't think you are intended to keep the clock going for days on end when you're not timing something.

IMO this is a very useful addition to the cook's arsenal and a welcome presence on the kitchen counter.

I admit I was skeptical at first, but I love this device! It is intuitive, versatile and attractive.
Features: I find the dials are very easy to use. The device can be kept clean with ease. And a real bonus, if you leave the room and miss the beeper, the beeper turns off after a period of time but the Quad -timer tracks the elapsed time from the original setting.

When I have more than one thing going there is no more need to guess at timing or set multiple timers. I use this for multi-tasking of all sorts. For example, when I have something in the oven, something on the stove and an appointment to remember. It really reduces the stress whether we're preparing a meal or preserving our fall harvest.

We plan give these to many of our friends this holiday.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chef's Quad-Timer, February 9, 2011

This timer is one of the nicest kitchen toys I have bought in a long time. Let's face it; do we really need timers? I suspect grandma looked at the kitchen clock, made a mental note of the time, and used that as a guide, but she cooked by sight, feel, and taste.

But if you are a timer user as I am, than this is the one to get. The designer of this timer obviously cooked, and cooked meals complex enough where all four burners plus the stove were in use. Since most kitchen stoves have an oven timer that is taken care of. This timer is designed to correlate each of the four timers with a specific burner on your stove. The outer knob lets you select the timer you want to deal with. I say deal with because you can set time, add time, reduce time, or stop timing with the simple rotation of dial. No pushing of buttons. The display displays two of the timers at a time, and graphically indicates which timers are displayed. The star shaped start button has four little green LEDs to indicate which timers are active, and they turn red when the timers have timed out.

You can tell at glance, what is going on. The audio signal is loud enough without blasting you out of the kitchen, and when you are not cooking the timer is an attractive counter top clock.

Nothing is perfect, nor is this timer. Because it is vertical, for a small footprint, it does not provide an ideal view of the face. I found it convenient to set my timer between the raised edge of the sink and the wall at a slight angle which provides a good view for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Nice Timer, January 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chef's Quad-Timer Professional (Brushed Stainless) (Kitchen)
This is a well made attractive timer.

Nice fit and finish.

Has 4 separate timers in one package.

I like that this timer will recall the time previously entered (batch mode), so if you're doing batches of cookies, it's easy to time the next batch.

When not timing something this unit can display time of day, or can be turned off altogether (the clock still runs though not displayed (saves batteries,
which are included).

Each timer can be ran, paused, and reset independent of the others.

Times of 1-30 min entered in 1 minute interval, there after in 5 minute intervals.

For times of, say 42 minutes, one would have to set one timer for 40 minutes and a second timer for 2 minutes.

A number pad, for direct time entry, and an alarm clock would have made this timer perfect.

Overall this is a Very Nice Timer. I would buy this again and would recommend it to others.
