Chemex Coffee Maker Cleaning Brush

I have two Chemex carafes - the smallest 1-3 cup classic and the 6 cup version. This brush works for both perfectly and makes the cleaning much easier than the various other brushes and sponges I bought in the past.

Note that this is a very large brush. 16". I didn't look at the size when I ordered and was surprised at first when I opened it up. However - the brush fits the opening of all chemex carafes (which I think are all the same diameter?) and the long handle makes for an easy cleaning experience.

We have the smaller coffee maker. When the brush is dry it's a tight fit. Wet the brush, it fits in the carafe and works just fine.

This brush works well, but it's wooden handle was treated with a thin sealer that quickly flaked off allowing the handle to warp.

What can you say about this straightforward product. Keeping a Chemex flask clean would be next to impossible without something like this. Works great IMHO.

why skimp on the cleaning method? You can't put the Chemex in the dishwasher ... so, how are you going to clea it? Hope that your hand fits in there?

invaluable tool for cleaning the chemex pots. tried to do without it in the beginning, but eventually caved and glad I did.

When I bought this brush, I misinterpreted it as a brush I could use along with my water-vinegar clean of my electronic drip coffee maker. I gathered that Chemex was the maker of the brush and didn't know that this brush is specifically designed for Chemex glass coffee carafes, such as Chemex Drip Coffee Carafe - 6 Cup, which also happen to "make" coffee.

Once received, I could see it was too large to use on my electronic drip coffee maker. It happened to be the perfect size to clean the coffee pot, though. I then used the brush on other similar pots in my kitchen, even though I don't own the specific pot it was made for.

I also found it has sturdy bristles for cleaning inside kettles, although several of the bristles came out on the first use. I recommend this brush if you know the exact use it's made for. I'm keeping it, but if I'd known more before buying, I would've looked for something cheaper and would've avoided this rather expensive kitchen brush.
