I have a glasstop stove and this product is great for use with glass cookware. I always store leftovers in pyrex glass containers, and this steel grid saves me from tranferring the food to a stainless steel sauce pan, or having to heat the whole oven! I just put the grid underneath the pyrex container and reheat the food. It's excellent! I've also started using it with my regular stainless steel sauce pans to heat milk - nothing sticks at the bottom! The possibilities are endless...The wire itself is heavy duty and not easy to bend, so it's sturdy and stays flat.

I use my Chemex Stainless Steel Grid for keeping coffee made in my Melitta manual drip warm and it couldn't work better. If I ever lost or damaged it I would purchase it again in a heartbeat and I would recommend it to friends and family.

I bought this along with the Chemex coffeepot. It works well and does what it is suppose to do (protect the coffeepot).

I have a really pretty teakettle made of glass that is meant to be used over a gas range. This coil allows me to use my teakettle over a range with metal coils without damage. It is a remarkably simple product made of stainless steel wire and provides a small amount of separation between the glass and the hot metal coil and prevents the intense heat from damaging the glass. This is a must if you have stovetop glassware and an electric range. With this, I can now boil water in my glass teakettle in my stove. It's very nice.

I use the Chemex system and have a glass top electric stove.
Simply put: Works as advertised!

* Grid works as a heat diffuser on your stove top

Prevents potential problems that can be caused by placing
a glass object directly on a glass surfaced electric stove.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of money for a bent piece of wire, but just buy it. You'll be glad you did. It's solid, and it doesn't twist about when heated. Unless you have a shop with a metal bending jig already, you're not going to do better by running to the hardware store for some stainless stock rod to bend yourself. Swallow your pride, pony up the price, and be happy you did.

I love pour over coffee, but the problem is that it is luke-warm by the time it is ready to drink. NOT GOOD. This grid is amazing. Now my morning cup o' Joe is hot. What good is it to slave over grinding your own fresh beans, POURING WATER OVER YOUR COFFEE SLOWLY and having a tasty luke-warm drink? It is depressing, that is what it is. THANK YOU CHEMEX. Now I can have delicious, hot coffee.
