Thousands of small and large human dramas unfold in the chemotherapy room each day. "The Chemical Brothers" is just one of many poignant and relevant stories I have seen in the chemotherapy room. The book also incorporates some of the history of the West San Fernando Valley, and some of the consequences of the military weapons research that took place here during the 1950s and 1960s. I tried to emphasize the balance of negative and positive consequences of that research--what made us strong geopolitically also had adverse environmental and health effects locally.
