5.0 out of 5 stars Good band
This is a great album from a good band. It is my first Rosetta Stone CD and it's great. These are a collection of earlier songs, the actual names are spelled backwards in purple next to the other name given, I have no idea why, here is the track list with the real names: 1. An eye for the main chance 2. Cimmerian 3. Shadow 4. darkness & light 5. Nothing 6. If...

You might as well just getting either adreniline or foundation stones. Alot of these songs are the same but remixed and see thats fine if you like that but i like rosetta stone because of the old school goth rock bass and drum machine sound similar to alot of sisters of mercy. This album is ok but keep in mind if your looking for that older sound stick to foundation...

Nothing 6. If only sometimes 7. Chapter & verse 8. Hiding in waiting 9. Keeping secrets telling lies 10. Subterfuge, these are old songs off from their other albums, as I noticed, but it offers a good introduction to the band's music. The album is a live studio one. The other names of these songs in blue are just lyrics from the song, I don't know why tey did that, but it's good anyway. You will see the names in blue listed on Amazon, but those are not the real names of the songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, I'm glad I went so far to buy this., August 16, 1999

I had to travel two states to buy this CD. Now I found it on Amazon. Stupid me. Anyway, it was well worth the trip. This is my first album from Rosetta Stone and it blew me away. A great indroduction to a great goth band. Every song is well put together. Its not only moving but its very rythmic as well. Only 10 songs are listed but keep the cd running because there is five bonus songs...

I had been searching for the live studio version of subterfuge for some time and was glad to have found it on this disk. This version is better than on the Adrenaline disk by far. The CD has great versions of familiar classics as well as the hidden tracks including heart and soul and a mixed version of adrenaline. The rest of the tracks are of the sort that happened later in the bands work as they are all electronic and far from the classic gothic sound. Overall this is a great way to round out a Rosetta Stone collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars goth music for people who hate goth music, August 28, 2005
This review is from: Chemical Emissions (Audio CD)
I don't like most "goth" music, but this is a good album. Mostly remixes, it had a beat and wasn't overly melancholy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really different versions of all of the songs., March 4, 2003

Supposedly a 'live' CD, although coming from this band, I'm not quite sure what that means. The versions of Cimmerian (am i wrong) and Eye For the Main Chance(bring me down) are worth the cost of the cd alone. The music on this cd is just so masterfully done that I can't describe it. There are some really weird drum effects, especially on Cimmerian. Other good songs are Adrenaline( a hidden track), Subterfuge, If Only and Sometimes, and Chapter and Verse. I contemplated giving this disc 3 stars because I usually only listen to the first 2 tracks.
