Good second resource for practice exam, December 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Chemical Engineering Practice PE Exams (Paperback)
First the bottom-line. If you are going to get only one practice exam book, do not get this, get the one published by NCEES which has one practice exam.
However, if only one practice exam does not do it for you (and it won't, for most people), this book should be used as the "other" practice book for PE exams. This book helps because it has two full exams.
I used both the NCEES review exam and this and passed the exam on the first attempt. I attribute at least part of my success to the fact that I took three full exams and each time went back and tried to address the weaknesses I discovered in the course of taking the exam.

Good for practice, not formatted like exam, April 21, 2006
This review is from: Chemical Engineering Practice PE Exams (Paperback)
Like the first reviewer, I would say that this should not be your only practice exam. My big issue is that it is not formatted like the test. This book has one scenario per 5-6 problems, the problems build on one another. Miss the first and you are likely to miss them all. The real exam will have one scenario per problem. One of the challenges to the PE exam is having enough time to read all of the scenarios and come up of the solutions.
I would recommend getting this along with the practice exam from Michael Lindeburg and from NCEES. Time yourself when you go through the NCEES. The Lindeburg series should be a must.
