Phenomenal (For a STRONG chemistry student), September 28, 2009
This review is from: Chemical Principles, Enhanced Edition (with Enhanced WebAssign with eBook Printed Access Card) (Available 2010 Titles Enhanced Web Assign) (Hardcover)
First of all i want to say that Zumdahl is fantastic. I love his work and his textbooks.
Chemical principles is a rigorous and through college entry level chemistry textbook. It assumes a slight amount of previous knowledge of the material, but even without it, a mind designed for chemistry would have no problem learning from this textbook.
I find that many people are complaining about its difficulty because of the subject matter, not the book itself. This is not Zumdahl's chemistry, it is Chemical Principles, an honors level textbook. It is much more quantitative and shows many more derivations than his other textbooks, which for someone like me (a physics major) is absolutely what I look for in a textbook.
Bravo Zumdahl.

Good service-feeling sorry for whoever has to use this book, September 25, 2010
This review is from: Chemical Principles, Enhanced Edition (with Enhanced WebAssign with eBook Printed Access Card) (Available 2010 Titles Enhanced Web Assign) (Hardcover)
This product was just as described by the seller. Perfect condition, no writing, water marks, or tears. The actual book though, I feel sorry for anyone who's professor is using this book. Other Chemistry books break down the information so it isn't an overload. This book crams three and four topics in one chapter which makes it really hard to absorb all the necessary info.

Sellers Misrepresent what is being sold, July 12, 2011
This review is from: Chemical Principles, Enhanced Edition (with Enhanced WebAssign with eBook Printed Access Card) (Available 2010 Titles Enhanced Web Assign) (Hardcover)
These sellers represented a Chemistry book (with webassign card) which is required for a class i'm taking. I chatted extensively with them before ordering since it was a used book and I didn't know if the webassign card would still be part of the package.
The customer service person assured me that the webassign card was included...as it was listed on the website.
GUESS WHAT? Book arrived without the W-A card!
After sitting on HOLD for 30 minutes with Amazon people, their only solution was to return the book and re-order it, with my fingers crossed that the correct stuff gets sent to me this time.
WOW. What a lame recommendation.
I asked to speak to a supervisor...and after 20 more minutes on hold they hung up on me without ever transferring me over to a supervisor. What was particularly irksome is that during the 20 minutes I could hear someone clicking in and out, checking to see if I was REALLY still on hold. But they never spoke. Just click-listen-click. How juvenile.
My solution: How about they send me RIGHT NOW the correct book with web-assign card, instead of having me return and re-order, etc etc. A lot of extra work when the problem is on them. And I have no assurance that I'll get the correct book the second time around.
:- (
This seems to happen more than 50% of the time that I order something from Amazon...or their preferred sellers...and it is also the last time I'm giving them my business. It takes too much time...and isn't saving me any money.
Grrr.
