After taking AP Chem in high school, I bought this book to take college General Chemistry online, just to to get a feel for what college-level chem lectures are like.

The overall lay-out Of Chemical Principles was clear, easy to follow and comprehend. There were a lot of example problems in the text and some answers to the odd problem assignments at the end of each chapter.

This book has great explanations and worked problems, and a perfect introduction to inorganic chemistry. The material is detailed yet described thoroughly using simple language.

The typos for the problems/answers in this textbook and solutions manual I find quite distracting. It's hard to build the confidence in such a complex subject like this when the typos have you constantly questioning if your comprehension of the subject. This textbook needs to be re-edited and reissued.

Other than that, the content is explained fairly well, but those typos really degrade the quality of this book.

Got it for a great price and the best part is that I am able to use it for three of my chemistry classes, that's half of them! Buying my books from Amazon has made it less painful, especially since most of the time it has been cheaper to buy the book(s) than rent them .

I had free access to this book but it is such a good resource that I decided to get a copy of my own. Explains chemistry superbly well.

This had very descriptive text and good examples. The numerous problems in the back of the chapters helped me with studying for exams.

I have to admit, I didn't use this textbook much during the school year. Which made me very surprised when I received an email almost a month after I returned the book, as instructed, stating that the binding was damaged and I was being charged $135! The book is in exactly the same condition it was when I received it (including the sticky notes and highlighted text that was left by the previous owner). I was hoping to use online textbook rentals to save some money, which is already quite tight as a college student. I have now payed more for this book than if I had just bought it in the first place, and was charged in the middle of the summer, when I had not budgeted to be spending this kind of money on textbooks. I definitely will not be using this seller again if they do not accept books in the same condition in which they distribute them and drop ridiculous charges on their already "frugal" customers.
