4.0 out of 5 stars good effort from the alc, July 9, 2009
This review is from: Chemical Warfare (Audio CD)
this cd is fire however some of the choices for emcess is a lil different which can sometimes not be good. the alc came a lil different than usual on this one. he still has a signiture sound however you can tell he did try a lil different formula on some tracks. most of it works a few misses but all in all it is a good effort.not as good as no days off but def worth the 12 dollars. real hip ho fans support this cd we need to put real hip hop back in the forefront!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Installment, August 6, 2009
This review is from: Chemical Warfare (Audio CD)
i don't get the low reviews for this one....why?...its good, i mean the production is great, the beats are quality...the only downfall is when alchemist try's to spit. hes not a good rapper. but when he has big names like prodigy and snoop dogg droppin verses it all comes together. i would recommend this to any friend of mine. it wasn't ground breaking material but it was worth honorable mention.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just a backpacker, March 4, 2010

The Alchemist's new album is even more catchy and accessible than his last and is filled with riveting beats and great production. Featuring appearances by Maxwell, Three 6 Mafia, Eminem, the Dogg Pound, and Talib Kweli, there is no shortage of talent. Ranging from backpacker-tracks like the excellent "Therapy" to the throwback "On Sight" to the typically Eminem-esc title track, this album is solid from start to finish. The Alchemist even shows that he is not above self-parody on the track "Grand Concourse Benches" which debates his worth as a backpacker. And it might be true, the Alchemist is not just a backpacker anymore, but he is more interesting in pushing the boundaries of underground rap.

4.0 out of 5 stars critic's corner, August 14, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chemical Warfare (Audio CD)
While this cd is not high on the commercial list, it is a homage to old school rap in every sense of the word. It has a lot of the elements that has made rap viable.
