5.0 out of 5 stars A Teaser For What Is To Come April 24, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
Apart from this including one of the guys that formed the most influential hard band in recent history, this is some good stuff. It's new, it's different, and it's completely Christ-centered. I especially love the remixes. Wow, what a great addition to this album! The remixes could stand apart as songs themselves and thus they do.

The best part about this album is it's willingness to be honest. I think that's been the best thing about Brian "Head" Welch from the beginning - his willingness to be honest about his life and the things he's gone through. That honesty is apparent in the lyrics in these songs. It's pretty heavy stuff.

Apart from this showing that Head was about 85% of the Korn sound, this shows that Head, his band, and co-writers are helping Head fill in the void left by leaving Korn. The songs are coming together quite nicely.

My favorite song on this album is "Chemicals." (probably why they named it the "Chemicals EP") Paralyzed is a great addition as well. "Whip It" is also kind of a teaser in itself as it shows the direction Love and Death's new album might take when it drops in October. You can also hear some writing/influence of Jason (formerly of RED) in these songs. The funny thing is he may have been influenced by Korn, so is Head really influencing himself but in the future? Kind of a weird thought.

Ultimately you're looking at a very heavy album both lyrically and musically. It's not for the faint of heart. Drink to your liking but know that you might turn yourself into a lifer. If this is a taste of what's to come, I want more!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Head's up April 24, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
Head's form of music is perfect for anyone Christian or not. It sounds A LOT like Korn and the songs speak of everyday lifestyle rather than his last album that focus about kicking the drugs and getting saved. I can tell Head is trying to keep it close to Korn and I applaud him for doing so. The remixes by Har Meggido in comparison to Korn's new dubstep album are five times better. The remixes are light but they give "Paralyzed" and "Chemical" a boost of electronic and bass. The cover of "Whip It" is nothing what you'd expect. Unlike the Devo version of the song, this is HARDCORE and there is no comparison to the original. When I first heard that they were covering "Whip It" I thought they were joking but I was truly impressed and it's one of my favorite songs on the EP. Unlike how Korn's cover of "Word Up!" sounds similar to the original, "Whip It" sounds nothing like the original and it is covered how songs should. Overall, the album is completely unexpected from his first album and you can tell that it's more of a band EP rather than a solo album like his last. Buy the album and you will be truly impressed Christian or just a rocker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing music May 26, 2012

Chemicals needs to be played as loud as possible. I don't go to night clubs, but that would be an ideal place for this track. It is simply fantastic. You could probably set a bench press record listening to it.

I get so sick of the typical "Christian" rock groups out there like RED who make a cd that has like one or two good heavy songs on it then the rest is this typical slow rock junk. Read more

The news of Head rejoining Korn is of the most amazingly epic proportions. His new band Love and Death is awesome and just as dark and sinister as it should be. Read more
