Chemins De Souffrance is aggressive, blasting pagan black metal from France. It continues along the same lines as their past few albums, and while those albums seem to be held in slightly higher esteem, this one I've found to be somewhat easier to find copies of, as far as Belenos albums go.
Almost all of the songs follow the same formula of fast and warlike black metal. There are no keyboards or anything here, just pure unadulterated pagan metal. Many of the tracks employ clean singing or chanting sparingly, which just enhances the pagan atmosphere. The songs aren't too distinguishable except for a particularly good riff here and there, but the music is pretty good overall so I'm not really complaining. It's a nice slab of black metal. If you're into this type of music then I don't think you'll be disappointed.
