Editorial Reviews

Review

This text presents a thorough and scientific account of the value of green tea that includes charts, graphs and extensive references…making this a very complete work on the subject.
--The American Herb Association, Vol. 16:3
…a good reference book…organized and well written…easy to read, contains plenty of data and information about green tea polyphenols and their physiological and preventive or therapeutic effects on diseases, and is therefore a good reference for those people who are engaged in the manufacture, research, teaching and health or therapeutic use of green tea extracts or green tea polyphenols.
--Journal of Food Biochemistry
The know-how that is provided by this book is immense...a handbook that should not be missed in any pharmacy.
Pharmaceutica Acta Helvetiae, 70 (1995)

4.0 out of 5 stars Everything you need to know about green tea October 16, 2000
Format:Hardcover
This is an amazing book that contains information about all aspects of the chemical properties of green tea. There is information about tea polyphenols, ranging from their purported cancer prevention to its deodorizing effects. My only complaint is that the book does not say whether many of these properties are unique to green tea, or if they apply to black tea as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars A much needed resource on Green Tea Chemistry April 19, 2010
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Found this book while looking for trustworthy sources on green tea's health benefits. Needed good science to back up the anecdotal health claims made for consuming green tea. This information is necessary for my web site EatGreenTea.com to be a trusted source on the verified health benefits of Green Tea. I found some very useful information in this book for my purposes. However, I'm not sure that most casual readers will find it worth the expense. As it appears to have gone out of print, it can be hard to come across a copy. Harder still to come across a good deal on it.
