5.0 out of 5 stars A change of pace from a "hot water music" side project, June 19, 2003
By A Customer
Finally re-released, this is a must have for any Hot Water Music fan and anyone interested in the softer side of indie rock.
The Blacktop Cadence album "Chemistry for Changing Times" takes the energy of Hot Water but replaces their trademark anger and urgency with a subtler and sweeter tone. From the slow opening riffs of "Last night..." to the light jangle of "Sinker", and even the string-laden "Unlucky" the Blacktop Cadence keeps up a pretty, melodic, and (god forbid) accessible groove that's had me sold since it's first release.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome, March 17, 2004
By danny hazell "dannyska" (Huntingtown, MD, USA) - See all my reviews
this CD is incredibly beautiful. Great arrangements. I have heard nothing like this before. It is slow and very melodic. THe viola in tracks 6 and 10 fit in perfectly and take the lead melody which is absolutely beautiful. Get this CD now. the lyrics are so heartfelt and full of emotion, more than anything iv ever heard. Most of the songs have clean guitar and then crunch later on in the song, although flowing together. The drummer is amazing and unordinary with his stlye. This CD was done before emo went big and into the mainstream and is the best emo CD ever. I never get tired of listening to this. Get this CD you will never hear anything so well arranged that is this underground.

5.0 out of 5 stars This album is absolutely incredible. , June 16, 2008

I think if you managed to even find this CD on here and haven't already purchased it, you don't need to waste your time reading reviews. This is one of those albums that you leave in your car for 4 weeks at a time. I've been doing that for years and years with this one and I still love it.

The only regret you will have after listening to this album for the first time is that they didn't put out several other albums as perfect as this one.
