This review is from: Chemistry and Chemical Reactivity, Volume 1 (Hardcover)
This book was written by college professors which explains why there were so many errors.
There weren't enough explanations and examples. The definitions are terrible. This book was a waste of my money!!! Writing of textbooks should be left to those authors who are independent of your college and actually do so for a living. Definitely needed proof reading before printing. This book was no help to me and my classmates.

This book was in excellent condition and looked almost brand new when I got it. It is the First Volume, Chemistry and Chemical Reactivity. It explains everything from the structure of the atom to the complexity of thermodynamics and more. This book is a great foundation for any undergraduate.

Honestly it is a good book.
My only complaint is that there a few blatent mistakes in the book that no one seemed to notice. Personally I think that it is because the really start appearing around chapters 14 and 15 and people who proffread are probably too tired to actually pay attention at that point. Take page 708 for example... the formula on the bottom should read k1/k-1 = [OONO]/[NO][O2] = K instead it reads k1/k-1 = [N2O2]/[NO][O2] = K Now I acknowledge that I am no PHD, however, considering that the next page goes on to explain the formula and there they have it right... you would think someone else would have noticed... Like I said though... its a good book. I love the practical applications and stories that they have included. Makes the chemistry much less dry and more relevant to how I might use what I am learning.
