I received this book on Friday and have not had a chance for my students to look through it. However, I was thrilled to see that it is indeed updated for the new test format. Most of the study books are not. This book is written by an experienced AP Chem teacher, with many tips for students throughout the sections. This is one book that I will recommend to my students.

This review book prepared me we'll for the new AP Chemistry Exam. It contains helpful test taking tips, reviews of the material, and practice questions. Overall, it was an excellent tool to prepare for the exam.

UPDATE: This book was a successful tool as I earned a 5 on the AP Chemistry Exam!

So far, so good! It's the only book I've reviewed for my students that actually aligns with the new curriculum, labs included. So many mainstream books advertised that they were updated for the new curriculum, yet included the old list of labs and reduced practice multiple choice to four answers. Not much of an update if you ask me! This book is legit. Bare bones review of the essentials. If you focus on what Adrian has presented here, you should be in great shape! Helped me as a teacher to sift through the new curriculum as well!

I have an AP chemistry teacher that I learn insufficiently with. This book has helped me very much. I wish I would've ordered it sooner and earlier in the year. Each chaper is simplified as much as possible and it's easy to learn from. It offers usually 2 to 4 practice problems. So one might have to look some up online if additional practice is needed. Overall, I highly reccomend it!

I'm an AP Chem teacher- I LOVE the book! The content is spot on for test material. I was disappointed that there are only a few practice questions. Test prep requires test practice. This is not the traditional test prep book- it's strictly content with only one or two questions per topic. It would have been better with at least one practice test in the book itself. * The online practice test needs much work- FR questions instructions are for the old format. Test does not have rigor of real AP exams. Questions are awkwardly worded where diagrams clearly belong in MC. Shy on rigorous questions relevant to particle diagrams, graphs, and charts. Wording in some questions was not AP style- "comment on" in the free response rather than "explain" or "justify" -the closer the practice is to the test, the better instrument it is. "Diagnostics " online are inaccurate, too broad or do not exist. I would not give the online test to my students nor suggest that they purchase other practice quizzes at the REA site- they are out of date on content, though I would have them buy the book for reference.

Although I am just working my way through the book, it is a wonderful resource written by a very successful AP Chemistry teacher. And yes, it is full of particulate diagrams, graphics, and illustrations which reflect the newly revised content of the course and exam. This is actually the first prep book I have been able to see which fully reflects the revised course and at least hints at what or how exam questions may appear in just a few months (May.)
My only regret is that it took publisher REA a week to link my copy of the book (and its access code) to the correct on line exam material. Originally it linked me to a previous edition with the old format questions. It took repeated calls and emails to customer service to get it straightened out. The problem apparently was resolving the triangle between their IT department, customer service, and me (the customer.) Today all was resolved and I will now spend some quality time reading the new questions.

I will be recommending this book for my students stating on day one. With AP test readers spending a little less than one minute per free response question, I want my students to get right to the heart of the question in two sentences. With Adrian's book as a homework guide, my students will gain that confidence not to fill their test booklet with written diarrhea.

Short sweet and to the point. The guy that writes these books is really good at predicting what's going to be on the AP for that year.

My daughter just prepped for her AP this year and said the book was extremely helpful. She mentioned that some of the kids in her class who didn't have this book were commenting that it was a better prep book than the ones they had.
