1.0 out of 5 stars The edition is a photostat of the original, February 23, 2011

This review is from: Chemistry in the Marketplace (Paperback)
The contents of book are very good. The book its self is very good. Unfortunately, this particular edition (Allen & Unwin) of the book is just a photostat of the original (Harcourt Brace). If I knew that, I would never buy it and instead I would borrow the original from a colleague and take it to the nearest photostat shop. It is not worth the money if you can borrow the original copy for a few days.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you only had one book on science ..., August 8, 2010
By

This review is from: Chemistry in the Marketplace (Paperback)
... it would be "Chemistry in the Marketplace". Facts and informed opinion on just about every aspect of science (and not just "chemistry") as it relates to everyday living - neither gung-ho for "progress" nor starry-eyed about the past. The good professor has his feet firmly planted in reality, loves his subject and clearly enjoys life. This book ought to be a classic - a wealth of useful information presented in a way that will satisfy both the scientifically literate and the merely curious.
It's not cheap, but real value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely bloody fantastic, February 4, 1998

5th edition available in the US since Jan 20th. As I am the author, I may be biased. It's Australian; but if you liked Crocodile Dundee, Muriel's Wedding, Piano, you'll love this book. Happy to discuss it with readers.
