The book is in pretty good shape.

I don't appreciate the surprise of opening up my package and noticing that I spent 150+ dollars on something I did not order.

Zumdahl's textbook is basically for college level chemistry, but should not be used for AP.

I think the other reviews are misleading because they are reviewing the vender and not the book. My vender mailed my textbook in great condition.

I literally LOVE this textbook! I totally didn't understand weak acid-base equilibria or the wave-particle duality of light and this book presented everything in a clear, concise, and understandable way!

Aside from being full of useful information, it's really well laid out with every single type of example problem you could ever want, and many wonderful diagrams.

I wasn't the biggest fan of chemistry before reading this book and now I really love the subject because I understand it.
Even my biochemistry professor strongly recommended this book to anyone interested in gaining some background in introductory chemistry.

Yes, it's pricey, but it's the newest edition of the textbook. For those concerned with the price, consider an earlier version.

Zumdahl's textbook is basically for college level chemistry, but should not be used for AP. This was the required textbook for my AP Chem class, but I feel that Zumdahl's book is boring and does not provide enthusiasm for students to enter into chemistry. His honors book, World of Chemistry, is better. This is a book for chem majors in college, not higher level high school students. I would suggest Kotz or Masterton. By the way, even though I was introduced to this book and read a few chapters, I still am majoring in chemistry currently, mainly because I chose another book, listed above, which got me a 5.

I took a year of General Chemistry at two different schools and used this book for the second semester. I didn't find this book to be very helpful in explaining complex concepts, especially as a first year science student. It was verbose in some areas and not expansive in others. I ended up watching a lot of youtube and Khan Academy videos to supplement. I found Chemistry & Chemical Reactivity by Kotz et al a much smoother read and all problems can be solved by information within the chapters (unlike Zumdahl)

Very helpful and gets me through the class. Coincides with what is being done in class and I would recommend it to anyone taking chemistry

Well, this is at best an average chemistry book. Naturally if you are a University of Illinois student in Chem 102 you must buy this over priced garbage. Complete conflict of interest.

my book just arrived today, no seal on hard cover as no access code, which my class required students have access to OWL V2. I bought it as NEW not used. $200 does mean something.
