It's good, but watch out for the resistance.,

I used this epoxy to make connections on solar cells. It works, which is more than can be said for cheap carbon-based conductive adhesives. Watch out for the resistance, though. It adds up when you have a bunch of low-voltage, high-amperage connections, and you lose power.Slow cure time (days to full strength) is also an issue.

I had a problem with broken leads from a device (glass panel), with not enough protruding wire left to solder. I used this epoxy to attach new leads, bonding wire to the panel and letting the epoxy provide the conduction path, as well. It worked as advertised, and the bond seems strong. I followed the recommendation in the instructions of heating the bond for ten minutes.

I've bought two tubes of this silver conductive epoxy adhesive. It works as stated and, at least in our application, had minimal resistance and has continued to work well. Be careful to not mix more than you can use pretty quickly (like 5 minutes) because it sets up really fast and become unworkable when it does. The 2nd tube I bought simply didn't work at all, NEVER set up and it was a big mess to clean up all the pieces we had glued together. I called the seller and they sent a new one and it worked fine, just like the first tube. I'll be buying more. I asked some other friends and they said they had heard of problems like mine so be sure you buy from a seller who is willing to replace a defective batch. I looked hard for alternatives but this was the most cost effective.

Product works well as it is loaded with silver and conducts electricity. good for ribbon connections, but did not work for me. I suspect there was a ground circuit I was missing. Would not use this for attempted repair of ribbon wire although it is feasable just not practical

If mercury is called "quicksilver", this stuff should be called "freezing silver". One contact for my car's rear window defroster fell off. You cannot just solder to a window because it will crack, so I was looking for something I could do without heating up the window. I was worried that the epoxy wouldn't conduct well enough to go inline with the 10 heating wires. It's pretty stuff -- similar products say they are 80% silver, and it looks like this one is too. It starts out thin but if you alternately stir and wait it will reach a thicker but workable consistency pretty soon. I had no trouble, and my rear defroster is working great now. |
