It's all about Cheries stunning vocals.,

There is no denying that Cherie has an incredible voice. She sounds like a younger version of Celine Dion. While not as powerful, her voice is just as stunning and in a few years she'll be able to give Celine a run for her money. The album is a nice collection of adult contemporary pop ballads and radio friendly uptempo songs. The album starts of strong with the undeniably catchy first single I'm Ready, then followed by 3 gorgeous ballads where Cherie really shines. Older Than My Years, Say You Love Me, and It's Your Love are sung beautifully, and Cherie gets to showcase her voice by belting out high notes, just as Celine would do. The album starts to drag towards the end with the songs Fool, Rush, and The Promise, but her voice always remains center stage, and she can make even the most boring song sound beautiful. The final song on the album is My Way Back Home, and it is stunning. Cherie has got what it takes to have a long career. I strongly recommend this cd for any fans of powerful female vocalists.

I first heard of Cherie on Launchcast with her songs 'I belong' and 'Older than my Years' I was impressed. I bought her cd off Amazon and listen to it often. She's got talent. I highly recommend this cd :)

This Album Better Sell,

America is notorious for being the most fickle country in the world when it comes to music. For example: Canadian chanteuse Celine Dion was a star all over the world before becoming a superstar in America in 1996, 6 years after her debut was released here. In a similar situation, we have Cherie. A star in Canada, she hopes to break into the American market with her self-titled debut. And all I have to say is: America better accept her, because she blew me away.
Her album, which consists of upbeat songs like I'm Ready and I Believe In You will make her a favorite with young girls. But the stars of the album are the soaring ballads, such as Older Than My Years, with which she displays vocal acrobatics that can rival Mariah and Whitney on their best days. Every song on this album is phenomenal, and I hope that this girl can break into the market, because I KNOW that when she does, there will be no turning back on the road to superstardom.

I saw Cherie in concert when she was opening for Clay Aiken. She's a great singer and performer. Reminded me of a young Celine Dion. Her debut album is a great mix of dance tunes and pop ballads. Aimed at teens but adults will enjoy it too.

Cherie has a great voice. The tunes are basic pop music. It's fun, but nothing I'll listen to every week. But, I cannot say enough about her voice.

Good Voice, A Lot of Filler,

I think Cherie has a very strong voice, even though I do not believe she is near Celine Dion yet like others have said but she still has vocals. I love her ballad Older Than My Years, so I bought the album on that ballad alone. I didn't like I'm Ready too much, fun, but nothing to remember. I found myself liking her slower songs more than anything, but they're not strong lyrics- wise. She sings about the same old things, relationships, and I understand, relationships are a big part of our lives...but not for a whole c.d. She needs to learn to grow more creative with the lyrics and start writing some songs that are different than just the same old I love you- I hate you kind of songs that are so overdone these days. A few songs yes that's all right, but having a whole c.d. like that is just boring and repitive. I think Cherie could go great places and I do encourage more ballads, but I also encourage other songs as well, like about other things in her life and whatnot besides her ex boyfriend or her new crush. There is more to life than relationships and I want to hear more of that from her. A lot of the songs are filler, but sung by her, she makes them beautiful to hear yet I still forget many of the songs since they are so similar to other artists' songs and do not stand out. Get some better lyrics Cherie, and I think you'll be great. Your voice is already sensational.
The songs that stand out on here are Older Than My years- still my favorite song on this album, It's Your Love, I Belong- great!, The Promise, and My Way Back Home. I'm Ready and Betcha Never are supposed to be the highlighted songs on this album but I disagree. I think the slower, softer songs on here are the better songs and highlight Cherie's vocals much better.

Astonishing Voice,

I don't know why it took me SO long to get this CD!! I had heard "I'm Ready" a thousand times but I guess I never really knew who it was. Then I did and I could not find it anywhere so I downloaded it from iTunes. I couldn't be happier.
She has such an excellent voice. And anyone who can sample Foreigner's classic: "Urgent" and turn it into a great pop song is up there in my book! This CD is the perfect balance of pop and deep ballads. When I say ballads I mean BALLADS! This girl can BELT! Although MUCH younger, she is on the same level as Celine or Mariah as far as voice quality goes. Every single song on here is worth every penny spent. If she keeps at it she will go VERY far and, someday, will be a household name!!!!

Total Pop Ear Candy,

OK...I picked this album up because it looked kind of interesting. Now, let me say that my musical tastes run the gamut (from Abba to ZZ Top). This album kind of surprised me. I didn't realize that I had previously heard many of the songs on television. I love, love, love "I'm Ready" - what a great song - extremely catchy. This album kind of reminds me a of a young Celine Dion with a shades of Christina Aguilera's first album mixed in. Cherie can definitely sing. Most of the songs are throw-away pop schmaltz but it is a fun listen. It'll be interesting to see how she develops over time.

Superb first effort from Cherie!,

I was impressed by Cherie's first album. A lot of people compare her vocally to Celine Dion. But that's the first four songs, mostly power ballads. After that, the Celine comparisons are cancelled out and Cherie shows her own style, because I love tracks 5 to 10. Those six songs are nice and catchy uptempo songs. I like the 3 Brian Rawling Productions-produced songs. I haven't seen Brian Rawling listed as a producer since the 1998-2001 assault of hits he had with Mark Taylor with Cher, Enrique Iglesias, and others. Taylor's been doing a lot of the songs with the Rawling group more often. But Brian's offering is just as strong as the two Mark Taylor offerings. I like track 7 the most, Body, Soul and Heart. Older Than My Years sounds fabulous. Her take of It's Your Love is more powerful than that tepid Tim McGraw/Faith Hill version. And Fool and Rush sound so nice back to back, with very adventurous landscapes. I recognized Foreigner's 1981 Urgent sampled on I'm Ready, but it adds a lot of punch to the song! At first, I thought it was live guitars on the song, but I saw Mick Jones listed on the writing credits, so they were smart not to get away with it. The last two songs, which Corey Hart produced, are also well done power ballads. For her being 19-20 to release this album, she has some strong vocal range. A very nice pop debut.
