About the Author
Paul Fusco became committed to photography while serving in the U.S. Army as a signal corps photographer in Korea from 1951 to 1953. He received a BFA in photography from Ohio University and moved to New York in 1957 where he joined LOOK magazine. Fusco's interest in the daily lives of people, social issues and different cultures has led him to document suffering in the streets of Calcutta, life behind the Iron Curtain, welfare and poverty in New York City and numerous stories on the diversity of life and cultures in the US.
Magdalena Caris has worked as a freelance photographer since 1997 in New York City. A graduate of the photography program at the Art Institute of Boston, her work has appeared in several well-known magazines including I.D., George, Vibe, and Self. She's also been the recipient of several awards and has had several exhibitions featured in the New York area.
