Don't buy it from Amazon,

This review is from: Cherokee Roots, Volume 1: Eastern Cherokee Rolls (Paperback)
Good book, but for the $800 it's listing for on Amazon? Crazy. It is a must have and if you must have it, order it from the Museum of the Cherokee Indian for $10.

Hellow,
My name is laura.. I recently learned that I have cherokee roots.. My mother has kept our heritage from me and I didn't understand why.. I have been aproached by several natives that they think I am cherokee.. Every thing in my nature and charactoristics, I am a caregiver, and have always been on the prayer and meditation side of life. Like my peace of mind and spirit and helping people, because it is giving of my self, and gets me out of myself, and my life is not materialistic. So I questioned my mother for nearly six months before she finally talked with me about it, because I look and act different then my siblings... A friend of mine, suggested that buying cherokee roots may help. Well in fact it did..Helped me to understand myself and the reasons my mother didn't want to talk about it.. So I researched and found that oaklahoma is where our ancestors were slaughtered, and that our ancestors children were taken and never saw their families again, and that the gov tryed to wipe out the entire native american tongue and culture.. Brakes my heart to learn these things... My mother's relatives were slaughtered and she grew up angry... Enlightenment is empowerment, and makes you humble to know that your family went through alot to protect you... Is pretty cool to know, the cherokees were the only tribe to have their own constitution and gov. long before the united states did...But is sad that alot of information was destroyed...and so much life lost... Ross is the name our family line..and don't know before that... Really appreciate the struggles our families went through....Proud to be who I am and thank you so very much... I will always pray to never take life for granted, and pass on what I learn in gratitude..

This is an excellent book! I strongly suggest anyone who is researching their family history or doing geneaology research involving Native Americans to buy the entire series. I know I will be buying the other works offered by the author so that I can continue my own research.
