Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Steven Seagal's Cherry Charge Lightning Bolt Energy Drink is the first energy drink to be made of 100-percent juice, and the first to contain Tibetan Goji berries and Asian cordyceps. It is also available in Asian Experience flavor.

The Lightning Bolt Story
When martial arts movie star Steven Seagal traveled to Asia searching for the ingredients for his Lightning Bolt drink he wanted a universal Asian character to summarize the drink's benefits. Seagal settled on the character known as "CHI" which is widely recognized as a symbol of power and energy in many Asian languages and cultures. When Seagal finished creating his drink, there was only one equivalent in nature -- the lightning bolt. Both mysterious and powerful, it is a symbol of the untold energy the earth has to offer.

Wonderful, unique ingredients
The ingredients of Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt are what makes this energy so impressive. Each component was carefully chosen by Seagal to incorporate the greatest treasures of Asian medicine into an all natural energy boost. The Cherry Charge flavor is delicious, but it is the ingredients that make this drink so special.

Goji berries
For thousands of years Tibetan Goji berries have been used in Asian medicine and were said to be the key to perfect health. Years of research have demystified this amazing fruit, and new discoveries are still being made. Goji berries are rich in vitamin C; they have a high iron content; and they contain polysaccarides which fortify the immune system. In addition, Goji berries contain high concentrations of the amino acid chain L-Leucine and 18 other amino acids, 21 trace minerals, linoleic acid, thiamine, riboflavin, betain, and B vitamins. The Goji berry may even help lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

Ginseng and Guarana
Translated, the word "ginseng" means "wonder of the world." This root is a treasure that has been used for over 5000 years to improve overall energy and vitality, particularly during times of fatigue or stress. Guarana is an incredible berry that is native to Brazil and other parts of South America. It has been used for centuries as an energy booster and research has discovered that its inherent element guaranine is chemically identical to caffeine.

Asian Cordyceps
Asian cordyceps are said to be one of the most rare and treasured herbs used in Chinese and Tibetan medicine. Seagal discovered the benefits of cordyceps while researching immune builders in Asia. Cordyceps are used to promote energy, vitality, and longevity. This rare herb will only grow in isolated regions of Asia in areas above three thousand meters. Studies show that in addition to immunity response, cordyceps can decrease blood pressure, improve bioenergy status of the liver, and promote endurance.

Ginkgo Biloba
The Chinese have been using Ginkgo for centuries to relieve asthma, lung congestion, regulate blood flow, and promote general longevity. This herb, which is derived from the Ginkgo tree, increases blood flow to the brain and blood vessels, delivering enhanced levels of oxygen and nutrients. It is often touted as a key to health and longevity. Ginkgo Biloba also acts a powerful antioxidant that can combat undesirable elements that may lead to premature aging. This herb is most popularly used as a brain function enhancer. It can greatly benefit memory and mental alertness, while helping to reduce mental fatigue and lack of energy.

Yerba Mate and Green Tea
Yerba Mate is made from the leaves of a South American tree whose rich leaves provide the flavor and natural stimulants to keep your body energized. The tea is revered for its energy giving properties and its ability to stimulate clarity of mind and thought expansion. Users often note improved memory function and enhanced train of thought. For over 5000 years people have been drinking green tea for its healing elements and its ability to give strong support to the immune system. Unlike black and oolong tea, green tea is not fermented and, thus, it keeps its powerful antioxidants. Known benefits include lowered blood pressure, boosted immune system, and lowered cholesterol.

B-Vitamins
B3, or Niacin, is needed to metabolize food and to maintain healthy skin, nerves, and gastrointestinal tract. Niacin can also be used to help lower cholesterol. B6, or Pyridoxine, is needed to breakdown carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. It is also used in red blood cell production and biochemical reactions involved in the metabolism of amino acids. B12, or Cyanocobalamin, is needed for processing carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. It is also vital for red blood cell production, maintaining nerve sheaths, and the synthesis and repair of DNA.

Cherry Charge is sweetened with an imported sugarcane juice concentrate that is all natural, but contains policosanols that can help reduce cholesterol. All of these healthy ingredients combine to produce a tasty drink that provides natural, healthy, and long lasting energy in a single 16 ounce can.

5.0 out of 5 stars NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART, November 12, 2005
This review is from: Cherry Charge Energy Drink, 24, 16 Ounce Cans (Health and Beauty)
I drank this while walking to work, and got so pumped up I couldn't stand it. There were these two muggers walking their dog, so I snapped their necks and threw their bodies under a bus, and this terrorist was driving the bus, so I sprang through the windshield and kicked his face right off the skull. Everybody was yelling at me to get control of the bus, but it is at that point that I left my body entirely. As the screaming bus plowed into a YMCA, I hovered lightly over the street in spirit form, feeling for the first time the energy flowing through all things. I could have become a god. Unfortunately, I sensed that there were still traces of Cherry Charge energy drink in my earthly body's mouth, and I immediately returned to it. It's a really good drink.

1.0 out of 5 stars now i know why they call it lightning bolt, November 22, 2005

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Cherry Charge Energy Drink, 24, 16 Ounce Cans (Health and Beauty)
Dazzled by enthusiasm and dreams of a better tomorrow, I ordered a case of Steven Seagal's Cherry Charge Lightning Bolt to share with my co-workers.

We got it a few hours ago, and as patiently as possible, I waited for a can to chill in the fridge. I knew there'd be no point in seeking power before I was ready for it...

Finally, the time came.

That's right, I cracked open a can of Steven Seagal's liquid wisdom, started up 'Another One Bites the Dust' on my iPod, prepared to meet my destiny...

The first thing I noticed was the delicate aroma of rancid cough syrup. Clearly, this beverage was filled with herbal goodness, "a natural energy drink that's packed with vitamins and exotic botanicals."

Eager to reap the benefits of Steven Seagal's wisdom and herbal lore, I took a sip. And, Monkey-Savior-Hanging-From-a-Banana-Cross, it tastes like Squeezits, that horrible kids' beverage from the late 80s or early 90s?

The only thing worse than the aftertaste is what it actually tastes like when you pour it onto your unsuspecting tongue.

Now, my stomach isn't happy with me and I think my sinuses are filling up with electric eels. I now know why they call it Lightning Bolt... it's because they've just taken non-alcoholic Thunderbird and poured caffeine into it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm drinking one right now., November 22, 2006
This review is from: Cherry Charge Energy Drink, 24, 16 Ounce Cans (Health and Beauty)
Well I just got mine from the gas station down the road, it's the cherry flavor. The tall, shiny and attractive can opens with ease even for those with thick fingers, and the cylindrical shape lends itself well to resting on flat surfaces.
Upon closer inspections, the fluid inside smells quite of medicine, and burns just a touch when you drink it. Best to guzzle quickly like taking a really big 16oz swig of Vicks 44D.
The rush builds as a crescendo, rising to ungrodly msasivve levles offf whooosh wich makes you go vroooooom and dinga dinga zing popping!!!!
THEN THE REEL BUZ KIKes IN AND YOU GO BOBBA BOBBA BOBBA
GOTTA CLEAN MY SEWEET RIDE'S INTAKE VLAVES AND FLORBOOARDS NOW OK BYE!!!

Well, apparently I neglected to hit submit, and 13 hours later, this review is still on my screen. Although I am quite astonished at its contents, I post it here so that you may be either forewarned or heartened by the incredible potency of this beverage. Pay no attention to the fact that Steven Seagal is on the label. A funny feeling I got when I woke up this afternoon leads me to believe he tastes completely different.
