Fair price, and this is a mechanical keyboard, with blue switch, which I liked a lot.
with this price range, I dont expect any other unnessary function like backlight or multimedia function keys.
Importantly, this one is as good as I expected. I am a mechanical fan, probably used every mechanical keyboard on the market, at least by now. This one is very classic, not fancy, very functional. compared to my old one, which I bought like 10years ago in China, this one looks not as good as that,I mean quality. maybe they not made this keyboard in German anymore. But,still worth the money.
If you are a old style user like me or you dont like any unnessary functions, you can have this as a great choice for you.And more importantly, if you work at school or an office you should better not have this, because blue switch makes a lot noise, you may enjoy this, while other probably not like it at all. They might pour coffee on it, joke. LOL. If anyone wants to ask me any question about this keyboard, pls, i will answer your questions. hopefully you can have a better answer than amazon give you.

The Cherry G80 is not a cheap buy even for a mechanical keyboard. However, I believe that it is absolutely worth the money at twice the price. I bought one of these keyboards about 3 years ago. As both a writer and a gamer, I find it ideal for my purposes despite the somewhat dated design. What the Cherry lacks in stylistic panache, indicator lights and function/multimedia keys it more than makes up for in performance and reliability in core typing duties such as word processing, 10-key entry, and WASD gaming.

This keyboard is quite forgiving ergonomically despite its old-school design. I have somewhat sensitive wrists from a job with a bad ergo setup a few years back and this board treats them well when paired with a wrist rest (I don't use the feet, but they are nice and sturdy for those who like keyboard feet).

The G80 also has the "spit and polish" lacking on cheaper boards. The cord is nice and sturdy and doesn't kink. The lettering on the keys is extremely durable; most gamers will have experienced obvious wear on the WASD array but my keys have nary a whit of fading after years of heavy use for that purpose. Even the plastic is top-notch: aside from dust, mine shows NO signs of wear and tear whatsoever. Not even the usual smoothed-out spacebar.

The noise level is obviously higher than that produced by membrane keyboards and renders it somewhat "NSFW". My girlfriend has taken to calling out "clackity clack" every time she hears me typing while I'm on the phone with her. However, this is par for the course for mechanical keyboards so I feel no need to ding a star for it.

All in all, I absolutely swear by my Cherry. If only I could have one at my day job too...

Purchased this keyboard because of the blue switches. Used it all day at work after installing 40A-R - 0.4mm dampeners. I love the feel of the keys, also it's not flashy so its appropriate for work.

Very good product from Cherry.
The only few imperfections might be the loud noise while typing, and the ugly looking. (Or you can say it looks "solid", since Cherry is a Germany company.)
However, when you click very button, this keyboard gives you a perfect feeling.
It's definitely made for gaming such as DOTA2, LOL. etc. Of course, you may say the Cherry black switch will be better. But from my perspective, i highly recommend this G80 3000.
3000 is also a better typing keyboard.
Do not hesitate to buy it if you really search for a good keyboard.

I like it for the feeling and sound of the 90s keyboard typing. However I might have to reconsider taking it back to the office since it's too loud.

For people who loved the clickitty clack of the old IBM keyboards (some find it very soothing) it is perfect. Not to mention all of the modern keys added. My son, who has grown up in the computer age, starting at 7 years old, loves it.

Very good. Good keyboard but the sound of click is loud. I like this sound is kind of music of type.
